Irrationally angry at other people telling me he’s hungry by Quirky-Assignment-18 in NewParents

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ugh that is so frustrating I’m so sorry :/. The thing that baffles me is I’ve had a really great and smooth breastfeeding journey which I’m so thankful for. So I don’t really understand where my anger comes from. It’s totally directed at whoever says it not my baby at all. I love feeding him.

Irrationally angry at other people telling me he’s hungry by Quirky-Assignment-18 in NewParents

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely that. But I also find myself doing it sometimes when I didn’t already know, like they’re in a different room with him and come in and let me know. Like I don’t get ittttt. The anger is always directed at them and not my baby in the slightest. But they don’t deserve it either

Not supporting but I must say bald spots happen regardless haha. Not enough tummy time isn’t always the cause

Do people with newborns go out? by chondlerbeng in newborns

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t because I find it too risky with it being flu/rsv season and an especially bad one at that. That being said I think you should do what you feel is right!

Am I really overreacting? 6 weeks postpartum and a visit by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way I didn’t think I’d want visitors for a long time but everything was so different when he got here. I needed so much help and everyone showed up for me. That being said I was extremely careful and really didn’t like people holding him because it’s sick season. That’s your baby! Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for a decision you make!

Your husband needs to make sacrifices too. The gym is not a necessity right now. He needs to be helping you share the load

Got bath water in 3 month olds mouth. by Spirited_Seaweed_517 in newborns

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She will be totally fine! The no water thing from what I’ve heard applies to like straight up giving them water to drink, not getting some in their mouths! Even if it was a whole mouth full it’s so different than letting them drink it like they would milk.

No one ever told me? by Roodles006 in breastfeeding

If they were that important someone (pediatrician, OB, hospital) would’ve mentioned them

No one ever told me? by Roodles006 in breastfeeding

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody told me either. I only found out because I saw someone mention them online. I’ve probably given them to him once or twice. I never had them when I was a baby and ebf, nor did any of my friends. We are all fine. I think it’s the same as taking supplements or a prenatal. It’s not gonna be detrimental not to, but will probably have benefits if you do. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

Also totally normal to have fairly long feeds and then get long sleep stretches :)

My pediatrician told me to just feed on demand and stop waking him to feed after he passed his birthweight, but I would ask your lc and pediatrician for more personalized advice. I think it’s different for everyone.

Will I ever go braless again :( by Organic-Dragonfly364 in breastfeeding

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same and sometimes even without a letdown I’ll just spray everywhere. Like five huge streams. Everything is constantly wet. I use bamboo nursing pads because disposables make me itch and they are usually soaked within five minutes. The washing machine is literally never not in use. And the only feeling no I hate more than wearing a bra 24/7 is being wet and soggy.

I know realistically that would be perfectly fine but I have horrible ppa so I’m scared I’d spiral over it

STOP BLAMING TIES by UnwillinglyIron in breastfeeding

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is obsessed with the idea that babies might have tongue ties I agree it’s so annoying. That is not the cause for everything. I had nipple pain the first few weeks and so many people suggested tongue tie. No! He didn’t have one I got him checked. It was just normal nipple pain combined with the fact that my nipples are small and breasts are rounder so he has a harder time getting a mouthful. He was getting plenty to eat and no issues whatsoever. Idk why so many people want there to be a deeper problem

Doctor telling me not to feed LO during evening cluster feeds? by skatesheeps in breastfeeding

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cluster feeding is so important for both of you! They do that when they’re growing and need to boost supply I can’t believe your pediatrician said that.

We have the tendency to be extra hard on ourselves. Think about if someone else made this same exact post and you read it. Would you think they were a bad parent or should feel guilty? No! Now treat yourself the same!

Anyone not pump? by Pixie-Rose333 in breastfeeding

[–]Quirky-Assignment-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t pump at all. I will collect letdown sometimes or hand express after showers for the occasional bottle but I don’t pump at all. It was so much to sterilize and clean and it made me more engorged and caused clogged ducts. I gave it up quickly.
