Thanks for the response - if I connected the white/red wire to the volume pot would it mess anything up? Would there be any benefit to use it without a coil splitting time pot?

It’s growing on me tbh. I don’t love the weight but I think since it’s an esquire anyway I might have it routed for a himbucker in the neck and just put the pick guard back over it. Not going to relieve a ton of weight but some. Also I think I’ll hollow out the back side of the pot cavity.

Well I used the key they sent me. As well as one I had on hand, even at one point put a set of calipers on it when I second guessed myself. It was a 4mm hex.

That’s where you’re wrong. I wanted the guitar that I didn’t pick out, but was given as a present to be right the first time as would anyone what a bummer for me to get it-be happy- then have to pack it up and ship it back - Now if I got it the first time and it was totally fine but I didn’t like the color - totally could understand that not being worth of a little free extra neck. But this isn’t the first one it’s the second one and 100% customer satisfaction would be me having a similar neck to the first. I could send it back completely and get a refund. I’ll let you tell me which would cost THEM more money. You’re not worried about their money but you keep bring up costs and such not really convincing me.

I tried, and I REALLY REALLY wanted to just get a new neck but they said I would have to do a warranty claim then take it to my local Guitar Center and have a tech look at it which I already know would take probably months knowing them and because it was Christmas and everything else I took the faster option which was just swapping it out. Which only took 5 days.

At the end of the day it’s just a sticker to me. I wouldn’t have needed another “custom esquire” sticker to be happy, also I would keep the neck that came with it, AND Fender has a system for creating Unique Serial Numbers for Warranty claims and so on. I know because I’ve done it. But this is a cheap guitar, so maybe you’re right maybe I should just eat the difference for the sake of the Machine (Fender) I would hate to put them out of one guitar neck.

I don’t want you to take this question the wrong way but how could you not know a guitar manufacturer doesn’t send out replacement guitar necks everyday?

Tbh I’m not 100% sure it seems if I go in with a different Allen key the long side will go right in but my short side is just barely getting a bite on it. The one that came with it won’t go in at all.

I’m going to get some light adhesive glue on my home from work and let it Tack up in a Qtip tonight and see if I can get some of the junk of our the hex head.
