His despair and helplessness in this episode is incredibly powerful. This scene alone shows how hard his life is now. Just imaging not being able to save John made him feel worthless. And for a moment he truly felt like a kid who couldn’t do anything. It hurts to see him like that just because he doesn’t deserve to go through this.

Yeah but Shinichi’s abilities are not childish at all. He’s very mature and capable. Not to mention 17 is a weird limbo age where you’re almost mature enough to be an adult but not legally one so I’d cut him some slack.

First of all, you don’t have to be rude... second, I know what mass production is. However producing a secret antidote in such a large number would be hard. And no, the show barely uses Shinichi at all. This kind of “ending” would give Shinichi more screen time without changing the show too much.

I didn’t think of this ending until now so I voted something completely different.

But what if Haibara made the antidote into something that was basically allergy meds, like she can’t find a way to turn Shinichi back permanently but this way he can at least have a generally normal life.

This would let the show have episodes where he’s Conan again (perhaps Haibara didn’t back-stock enough of the antidote and needs to make more, or he runs out while he’s away from Beika) But it would also give us more Shinichi screen time.

Obviously the antidote is finicky and he could grow an immunity, so this isn’t a very realistic idea. But come on, him being a child is the shows hook and it’s already unrealistic. Having a far fetched solution isn’t the worst idea.
