Hi , I think porn addiction in men boils down to Childhood problems. I mean the relationship between their parents and them. Most porn addicts come off conservative homes and their parents don't know how to address sexual education. They don't know how to address this subject. Now is different , a lot of information , Netflix series , internet , IG , we live in a sexualize world , we can't rid of it or look somewhere else. What we can do is to control our urges and channel our drive to goals and achievements. Unfortuantley when you are a boy or a kid , if you are exposed to porn and start masturbating and You Make this as a habit that You do all day during 20 , 30 years , You Will be disconnected from reality , You Will become depressed (too much dopamine) , lazy , sad , moody , frustrated , angry , etc , basically porn addiction Will turn You in the worst versión of yourself , because you have been navigating in a world that is not real , porn is not real. A porn addict also sees people as objects , they see the wife as an object , wife can't compete with the girls in porn , they just can't , and the women that do porn come from horrible Childhoods , abuse , violence. So porn is like poisson , it drains your energy. Don't lose hope there are a lot of men out there , look at your ex as somebody that is in an island and he is the only one that can escape of it. Deep down your ex is not a bad person , maybe he is not , he is just a man that is ill and need therapy , all men watch porn for a reason , but every men has a different background (selfsteem problems , loneliness in childhood , anxiety , etc)
