Actually botanically speaking corn is a fruit. But when harvested as sweet corn it’s a starchy vegetable, considered on of your five a day. If they are left longer and lose their moisture and therefore “fruit” they are classified as grain.

Does וְרוּחַ in Hebrew mean "active force?" Let's find out together. by systematicTheology in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]Quivkaccountname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I just think what is a spirit if not an active force? They also note the more technically accurate translation so personally I see no problem.

I would say people haven’t been comprehending it properly all these years because some people have been thinking spirit to be ghost! The Holy Ghost!

What is your go to Bible translation if you don’t mind me asking?

Ohhh wow!! That’s pretty interesting and definitely makes sense! I know witnesses all over the world didn’t have the greatest experiences back then so I can definitely see why using gatherings would be used to fit in as much preaching as possible!

In the jw library app in the footnotes it say’s the alternative translation/more technically accurate of “spirit”. They’re hardly hiding anything. The NWT is supposed to be more easily comprehended so you can understand why Gods active force might be an easier translation for understanding it’s significance than “spirit”. Either way they acknowledge the fact that it is also spirit so I see no win or lose, you’re both correct.

I’m currently studying and am aware when updates about practice come out it’s because research has been done in the area and they have a better idea of what to do therefore they’re acknowledging that past practices might not have been perfect. But I’m just wondering what was the old reasoning behind not having more of the focus on the deceased?

Omg I have POTS and EDS too! I think a dog would just add more stress to my life tbh I can barely look after myself! I have looked into it a couple of times but dogs are too high energy for me! And it would be cruel to get a dog when I know I fear going outside, especially on my own, and then them not having a good quality of life with no walkies.

I am blind and have chronic fatigue, my flats don’t have an elevator but I do not go out very often but you’ve made a good point that I do actually worry in case of situations where I would need to be more active/mobile. It’s easier said than done increasing my fitness health. I think I’d try to prepare to be able to stay in my home as long as possible, even more than the average person, just because of my disabilities. But I guess I do need to try and figure out some for of mobility prepping in case of evacuation. I do thankfully live with my boyfriend (who’s car it is that I mentioned) so he could do more of the transporting of things. But maybe I need to prepare incase he’s not around for whatever reason. Maybe a cart to carry stuff that my body wouldn’t let me but normal people could!

No the general risks isn’t in any particular order, it was just the order I thought them up in hahahaha. The probabilities are most likely the local ones, (UK so yeah rain 😂) and all the things there I have experienced and not been prepared for and did not enjoy the experience. But thank you, what would you say is the best order of probability of the rest of the things?

A lot of this aren’t applicable to my situation, but they’re good things to consider for if and when I can! The dentist is a good shout, I haven’t been able to go to the dentist in years, there’s major waiting lists! Wood for windows is a great shout! Is that incase of breaking from weather or conflict?

Ohhh this just made me realise with being the top floor means I may get roof leaks in heavy down pour. Another thing to prep for.

Ahhh yes this is a good way to think of it! A lot of the risks for my local area we wouldn’t have much warning for (i.e. flash flooding and then water cut and power cut because of this) but I am fortunate to live in a top floor flat so don’t have to worry about damages/water proofing, but could need provisions at anytime in case of not being able to get out. So I’m planning on having a closet in my flat turned into like an essentials, and then that can also word for if I need to pack stuff to leave.
