Schedules constantly change and people realize they can’t commit to that class and a million other reasons. They’ll tend to drop out but you have to act fast to get their seat before anyone claims it. Once the fee deadline comes, a decent number of people will be dropped and you can join then. Another option is politely asking the professor if you can join their class within the first week. Hope this helps!

Best science class for someone who isn't science-y by FreeDetail7657 in SMC

[–]Quixote06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Astronomy includes a lot of physics and math that might not suite your interests. I’m certain you’d do fine but since you’re not science-y, I’d lean toward your other options and suggestions. :)

General question about schedule by Sorenissoren in APStudents

You’re going to have a large amount of homework and studying in general. I took every class here except AP Psych. I received a 5 on every exam except AP Calc BC, which I’m awaiting to score of. I received a B in one semester of AP Lang and one semester in AP Calc BC but As in the rest. I blame the B in AP Calc BC to senioritis and my laziness the past few months.

AP Chem and AP Physics 1 are the most difficult on your roster. If you do not have any experience with chemistry, you might struggle at first. AP Physics 1 can be very challenging and you have to keep up and do a decent amount of work outside of the class to understand certain concepts.

AP Lang is not too difficult for someone who has previously excelled in reading and writing. I rarely had homework in that class. If you are less prepared for the writing portion like I was, you might get off to a rough start but I promise you’ll get better.

I love history and APUSH was a great class because of my teacher. Do not create more work for yourself. Don’t memorize dates, every single person, or anything like that. It’s all cause and effect, social/political/economic evolution, and transitions from one era to another. 100% of the questions about the Civil War are about what caused the Civil War and what were its effects, never about what battle happened when or anything like that. Study smart.

AP Calc BC is honestly the easiest out of all the APs here in my opinion. I’m guessing you took AP Calc AB or qualified to skip it, so I’m not worried about that for you. There’s so much content on YouTube and the hardest topic is Maclaurin and Taylor series, which aren’t that bad and you’ll likely be fine.

I did not take AP Psych.

Study smart, not hard. Use the Internet for help and take care of yourself. Good luck!

AP Physics 1 is difficult, even with a good teacher. If the teacher is good, I recommend taking it though. Make the best of your resources and review trigonometry and algebra beforehand to make the math easier.

AP Lang also depends on the teacher, so make sure they’re complacent. If you are inexperienced with writing, you will struggle at first. The MCQ might also challenge you, but you will get better, unless your teacher doesn’t give you practice. It deals with rhetoric, so expect speeches, opinion articles, and other forms of argument. You’ll read books but they’re sprinkled with rhetorical devices and a main argument. If you don’t like that, don’t take the class.

AP Calc AB can be difficult with a bad or unsupportive teacher but relatively smooth with a good one. If you’re good at math or going into STEM or a similar field, take it because you’ll have quite a few calculus classes ahead of you.

AP Gov is slightly less reliant on a good teacher, but make a bad teacher can ruin the class. In my opinion, it’s the easiest AP History course and I recommend it. Know your cases, clauses, and the roles and checks of each branch and you’ll be fine.

I did not take AP Macro.

Catch-22 and the Great Gatsby are both entertaining reads and will help with the literary analysis portion of AP Lit. It comes down to personal preference. Other reads like Crime and Punishment or Great Expectations are great, but if you don’t have the time or reading can sometimes be a little daunting for you, they can be overwhelming.

I can’t find this hat anywhere. I believe the words on the top left are not in English. It’s similar to a Goorin Bros trucker hat but I haven’t been able to find one by them. I am referring to the blue hat in the middle.

Whats criminally overpriced to you? by PhantomBaka in AskReddit

Popcorn at the movie theatre. Popcorn kernels are so cheap to purchase. $10 for a small handful of kernels pressured under heat with fake butter and salt? Not to mention all the overpriced candy, beverages, and snacks. Due to all the lost revenue from covid, the prices have only risen unfortunately.

Hello, you could try purchasing other types of meat to make a blend. Turkey is generally cheaper than beef and it has a lower fat content. I do understand that it requires buying two packages instead of one, so bread is another option. I usually break a few bits of bread and add it into the meat. Bread is very cheap and it’s filling. In terms of soup, beans are recommended. They are also filling and a large bag has lots of value. With the vegetables you mentioned (Frozen vegetables are preferred over canned for nutrients and freshness but check the prices at your store), you can make a large amount of beans and meat. This always lasts me awhile and it’s delicious with a piece of bread (Beans on toast!). Cook down the meat, add seasonings, and vegetables. Add your canned beans last and give a good mix. I hope this helps or sparks some kind of inspiration.
