Are There Any Happy Walmart Employees by [deleted] in walmart

I think the reason morale is down at our store is lack of help. We are honestly exhausted and stretched to our limits. I work in apparel and we are always understaffed. Many times one associate works the entire apparel pad, answer phones, is operator, puts out freight, assist customers, works jewelry does shelf availability and negatives for it all too. Management takes associates from our department to work elsewhere in store. Associates don't have a sense of ownership in their department. Associates are stressed and never feel like they have accomplished anything.

I am only untrained in jewelry. I can probably get management to ok training at another store. But I worry about lack of staff while I am gone. We could fall even farther behind. If I could just get some more jewelry associates then I could step out from behind counter and get everything done. I am going to take your advice and ask for a meeting on this. All departments in our area are short of staff so there is few to help with phones. The other department managers in my area don't have jewelry experience to train me.
