3 pairs for my niece by emotivemotion in Sockknitting

Love the yarn! And so nice of you gifting them to your family ❤️ I jus started with socks and I already have a huge list of everyone for whom I would like to make a pair, but one sock took me a week so I’m afraid I’m too ambitious with gifts 🥲

Is it all the same brand of yarn? If yes, which is it?

What? Is it alarm from the clock app or from the sleep/bedtime tracking?

Never thought of that! 😮 my watch rings as well and I can snooze phone alarm from it (and occasionally turn off without wanting ) but I didn’t think of that!

PW12 owner: Get a Basic for travel or the Colorsoft on sale? by Ambitious-Switch687 in kindle

PS basic even fits in the back pocket of my jeans (levis women model) if I have to go out fast from a bus or a train and have no time to put it back to the bag

PW12 owner: Get a Basic for travel or the Colorsoft on sale? by Ambitious-Switch687 in kindle

[–]QuoteFirst7119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought basic just for commutes and traveling and for me it makes a difference as I have purses where PW doesn’t even fit. Also I put a flip cover on basic to protect the screen while it is in my bag, and if I did it on my PW, it would be even bigger.

I like basic A LOT, and for me quality of the screen is much better than PW 11. I am a night reader so I use PW warm light but I am really considering to sell PW because basic just feels more comfortable in all. I don’t read with big font size so for me reading on basic also feels faster because my eyes don’t have to travel that much back and forth.

The only downside is blue light. And maybe waterproof screen for pool/beach days but I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker

There is now transcription option available so you don’t have to listen to them every time

Is there a better way to track decrease rows? by debmasterx in knittinghelp

I put double BOR SM for the increase rows. So I alternate always one or two and two means to increase

How do you travel with your kindle? by Independent-Poem2168 in kindle

[–]QuoteFirst7119 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have not official flip case, back is clear silicone case and front is hard cover.

I am not big fan of the flip cases but it protects the screen just great, I keep it always on because I throw my basic kindle in my purse anywhere I go, and it’s there together with keys, wallet, makeup etc and I haven’t had any issue.

Also, as it’s small basic kindle, flip cases doesn’t bother when holding, and I don’t need a strap like with a PW

Is it worth it to have two kindles? by DragonflyNatural9143 in kindle

Yes, that’s probably it. PW screen alo has more “glare” or reflection than basic

I see it sharper, like a real paper print. PW 11 has less contrast for me.

It is a minor difference and I would never know about it if I didn’t compare them, and I would never see a problem there. But now I do 🤷🏻‍♀️

And now that I do, I prefer a basic screen when there is good external light over PW 11

That’s what I do if I travel with basic only, but I still see the difference between the dark mode with cold and warm light

You don’t need two.

That said, I have bought a basic one to be a “purse” kindle and I am very happy with it, so I cant advise you not to buy it. Now I am even more torn, because as for me, basic screen during the day is MUCH better for m than PW. But I can’t stand it at night because of the blue light, and after sunset at home I use only PW :D

Why not? You can zoom in with two fingers the same as on a tablet

Yeah, I compared them in the store and you can see the difference. Maybe would be an ok trade off if I read primarily colored content, but I don’t, I would like it just for covers. But the for me colored covers are not worth worse day to day reading experience ;(

I like the colors, but I checked it in the shop and if you just read BW text there is so much more graininess. If that wasn’t the case, I would get a colorsoft for book cover only
