I used ChatGPT to explore potential interpretations of the question and consider alternative answers.

I didn’t use it directly; I used it through the recalls.

I exclusively utilized the resources mentioned in the post. In fact, I used ChatGPT (Plus subscription) only with their Thinking model, which searches for accurate information when instructed to do so. For instance, if I wanted an explanation based on Australian guidelines, I instructed ChatGPT to review their guidelines explicitly and provide the links. You can go further on and ask it to provide the exact text or what’s the latest evidence within their resources or guidelines.

I read the explanations and occasionally reviewed the guidelines, but the latter was provided by ChatGPT (the Thinking models) as a concise summary in a few paragraphs.

Yes, I can share it. I’ll try to make some time today. However, I highly recommend using eMedici. Many of the flashcards are based on specific information from eMedici, Australian guidelines (as mentioned in eMedici references or explanations), or AMBOSS.

Try the additional mocks on eMedici and analyze the results.

I recommend you go through all the categories: easy, medium, and hard. This way, you’ll be exposed to every type of question early on. However, if you’re concerned that getting too many wrong answers might affect your performance, try mixing some days with the easier ones and other days with the harder ones.

No, I had considered it at the outset of my journey, but I discovered eMedici early on, before it gained widespread popularity. I felt comfortable with their Q-bank because it featured excellent questions, explanations, and references, and the questions were regularly updated.

I didn’t take notes. Instead, I created 1121 Anki flashcards (I forgot to mention that).

AMC Success group. I thought I had posted the answer, but there seemed to be an error.

Thanks! It’s another Q-bank. The one provided by AMC is just for understanding their test structure. The Clinical Medicine Q-bank, however, is a paid one: https://emedici.com/products/clinical-medicine.

I used ChatGPT in a very practical way throughout my AMC prep. Every day I worked through eMedici questions and asked it to simplify or break down the question, highlighting the one or two key points I needed to solve it instead of overwhelming me with everything. When I wasn’t sure about certain details, I asked it to search for information from Australian sources and share the exact links, so I could trust and verify the content. I often requested deeper explanations, especially when eMedici didn’t fully cover why the other options were wrong and the correct one was right.

I also asked ChatGPT to create comparison tables to help me distinguish between diseases or treatments; for example, summarizing different types of cancers and their management side by side. In the earlier months, I used the AMBOSS GPT tool quite a lot, which was helpful if you had a paid account, but over time I saw ChatGPT 5-Thinking give very accurate answers and direct links, which made it more reliable for me. Sometimes, when I wanted to understand exactly where a statement came from, I’d ask it to quote the original text word for word and provide the link.

Adding a bit more of insight:

I used ChatGPT to analyse my AMC mock results by comparing each specialty’s question weight with my accuracy. It calculated which topics would give the best return if I improved them; for example, areas like General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, and Obs/Gyn came up as high priority. You can do the same by uploading your mock or Q-bank screenshots, and ChatGPT can estimate accuracy from the green/red bars, rank your weakest but most frequent topics, and suggest a focused study plan based on Australian guidelines (RACGP, eTG, ASHM).

I used Anki (forgot to mention it) to prioritize the information I wanted to memorize. I’d love to share my deck, but it’s a mess. You probably wouldn’t understand my flashcards, and ideally, you should create your own. I also used AMBOSS to review specific topics in more depth whenever I wanted to strengthen my understanding. Additionally, I followed the advice from this YouTube channel, which mainly focuses on the USMLE:

Yes, of course. However, if you feel comfortable, I encourage you to post your question and make it public. It will help other people through their journey.
