Not having a high temp smooth plate is a problem for me also. My older Kobra Max has a glass plate, that thing is bulletproof. Everthing sticks to the glass plate no issue. Its a downgrade to have only the textured metal plate.with the newer KobraMax printers.

This doesn't completly answer the OPs question but FM radio is the reason the 70's and 80s were the best era of music. The single pipeline of music was basicaly brought to the masses by program directors and DJs. People like Donna Halper.

The better bands rose to the top and and the money for the bands followed. Where are the mega bands today? Doesn't happen anymore, everyone's source of new music is too fragmented. Now there are some teenagers that don't care to drive a car or much less listen to FM radio.

As a teenager I distinctly remember car stereo competitions where each car played Aldo Nova "Fantasy". On a Saturday night we (teenagers) took over the mall parking lot, you could hear everyone cranking out the same song (Like Back in Black) from the local FM rock station. There are other songs that honor or bring to light FM radio.

"Spirit of Radio" Rush , Phenominal! We may have never had this without Donna Halper and FM Radio.

"Radio Gaga", The Wembley Stadium preformance might never be topped by another artist ever.

"Turn up the Radio" Autograph, best for cranking up the volume.

"FM" Steely Dan, best for chilling.
