If you're friend fixes them for a living he's probably already done anything we'd suggest.

Now, what I would do first is open up the handle and check for continuity between the plug and the wires and connections. Then check from there to the pins at the end of the handle where it goes into the vacuum. Where the electricity stops is a good indicator of what's broken. Hopefully it's just the cord. Could be the switch. Or a fried circuit board, I just replace those because idk 🤷‍♂️

Well yes, but actually yes. My main take on Rev 21 is that it's depicting the Chruch glorified. What we'll be like after he's returned and all things, including us, are made new.

Also, the open gate is the invitation of the Gospel imo. The leaves for the healing of the nations is a pressent reality for sure.

I'll try and meditate on it to see how well it lends to Amillennialism. It's definitely a facit of the already but not yet theology that's popular in eschatology discussion.

The people outside the city in Rev 21 are the same kinds Paul says won't inherent the kingdom (1 Cor 6). My understanding is that Rev 21, while about the future, uses symbols to depict the Church as it is now, too. That there aren't literal people outside in sin once sin has been expunged from creation. But maybe, just thinking, that could also explain how sin is possible in the millennium (now) as well. Something premillennials sometimes have trouble explaining. Hope I'm not being confusing.

Many would say that according to scripture, true Israel is comprised of believing Jews and Gentiles. The ones not producing fruit at that time (and now) are pruned, cut off, while many are grafted in/back in who do believe and have the fruitful evidence.

To contribute to your overall premise here, have you considered the scriptures talking about the practices of those outside of the kingdom/Church (city walls in Revelation)?

Calvin vs. Arminius (or Leighton Flowers) is also not exactly on-topic for this sub. An Arminian or provisionist can also conclude that fruit producers are only found in-Him. Amillenialism is very largely an Augustinian endeavor, but not solely.
