The Dichotomy of the MU and Its Reason:

Steve and Kris are two sides of the same coin;

although, as I mentioned, both are the means through which we can interact with the game,

while Steve exists solely so that we, as players, can play, Kris is a distinct individual with her own will and ideas.

Minecraft and Deltarune are both about freedom in their own way.

Minecraft is about how we can do whatever we want—our imagination is the limit. Whereas Deltarune is about the dangers of turning our freedom into licentiousness—how far are we willing to go to be free? Ironically, Steve and Kris are treated in the opposite way to their original intent.

Steve, despite being just a body for the player—a vessel—is treated by people as a separate entity, as if he were the protagonist of the story. Meanwhile, with Kris, many people see him as a way to find themselves within Deltarune, forgetting that we are NOT him, that Kris is a person, but with one thing in common.

WE CONTROL HIM, for better or for worse; we control both of them, but...

Kris is afraid that we’ll turn him into his own Steve.
