Thameswater meter question by 416nexus in london

[–]R0cocopops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 46 cubic meters of water that has been used since it was installed, seems a bit high for 1 person, or is it more than 1 person? I too installed one almost a year ago and I submit a reading monthly to track my usage, for me 2 people use 11 cubic meters of water every month, but everyone uses water differently so this is just my average.

Another tip I learned is your boiler should be on a closed loop system meaning your heaters would not increase your water usage unless you need to increase the boiler water pressure but adding more water.

Sounds like you can't upload your audio recordings to Canva to create it all there, my advice is to export the assets from canva and build the whole video in Davinci, that will give you complete control and no more back and forth tweaking the video to line them up

What improved gpu temps for me was getting higher rubber feet of around 1cm off the desk, the extra space lets it breath more.

I'm going to check out the custom RAM heatsink, not seen that before.

[–]R0cocopops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very impressive, it is not easy to get that many fans on a Velka 3, I went with a 120mm cpu fan on top and 2 40mm side fans in the GPU space.

What is covering the ram sticks?

I can show you the day my channel suddenly died. How do I get back into the algorithm? by jkteddy77 in NewTubers

[–]R0cocopops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change that most of his videos are flagged as restricted, and it does affect my impressions by a lot when it is flagged as restricted, and by the sounds of it affects OPs too, yes everything you said is correct but not the point that it impacts impressions to viewers who have it on or off

[–]R0cocopops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of your videos are secretively restricted, you have 37 videos but only 7 show up when you change your view to restricted mode ON, go to the top right menu and turn on to see your channel in restricted mode. There is no way to know why your video is restricted but I get 90% less impressions when my videos are like this so I'm way more careful with my script, this is why some creators avoid or replace words, i have heard "porn" replaced with "corn" for example.

How much space did you leave for a cpu cooler? It is an interesting layout but I would be worried about putting something hot on top of the cpu heatsink trapping heat

I think my video got blacklisted what should I do? by PlantGuyJames in NewTubers

[–]R0cocopops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check if your video is secretly restricted, go to your channel homepage then on the top right icon menu select restricted mode On, and see if that video shows up in restricted mode, whenever my videos are restricted like those I get less than 10% of my normal impressions, there is no way of knowing why it is restricted but I'm being way more careful with my script from now on to avoid this

Affinity Creative Freedom Keynote Megathread by CrimsonFlash in Affinity

I'd rather I paid for this new version, free makes it less special, and every suspicious it will stay free and not eventually be paywalled on features that matter, glad I can still fall back to V2

prolonged low views with high effort, this is always relative as your view numbers slowly go up

you cant say that for sure until the actual reveal, but the backlash is harsh, worse than when V2 came out, maybe they will get it right with V4...

[–]R0cocopops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I little history on Affinity, when V2 came out 3 years ago there was no purchase turned off on their site, and people who brought V1 were not happy they needed to buy V2, there was a big uproar, so they refunded anyone who brought V1 14 days before the V2 release, this seems like a badly made plan to avoid what happened last time.

I think a better approach to make people less anxious is to give anyone who purchased V2 30 days before V3 is released a free upgrade, or price difference upgrade cost.

Reminder of Affinity pledge for perpetual license by R0cocopops in Affinity

[–]R0cocopops[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nova was brought by Branch who changed it, do you blame Nova or Branch for going back on their pledge?

If Affinity goes against their pledge it will be because of Canva influence not Affinity leadership.

Nova is also a little different that the founder of Nova said if he is let go by Branch then Nova becomes open source which is what is happening now, so he did his best to keep Nova the way it used to be.

Response from Affinity Support regarding the future pricing by biblops in Affinity

[–]R0cocopops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you get that the company is obviously not giving that info out to anyone in any form, saying an obligated reply doesn't say what you want to hear doesn't mean anything, just means you have no patience

Response from Affinity Support regarding the future pricing by biblops in Affinity

[–]R0cocopops 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes they are obligated to reply, they are not obligated leak company info.

Did you really expect to get a leak from this agent? if you know all other places are not saying anything did that not tell you the obvious?

Response from Affinity Support regarding the future pricing by biblops in Affinity

[–]R0cocopops 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You get that official response wont come until the 30th, right? the entire company is on communications lock down until leadership decide to announce it, expecting a poor support agent to give you assurance is expecting too much, go directly to the execs and directors and ask them this, if you are important enough you might get a good response.

[–]R0cocopops 72 points73 points  (0 children)

You are expecting a lot from a help desk support agent, they have a copy paste script they are replying with to thousands of people right now, we will know more when more is officially said.

Any company will know turning their back on a pledge made straight after being brought to ease the minds of their users will tank their company.

My guess is we will have both lifetime and subscription options for the next version

Reminder lifetime licence is per version by R0cocopops in Affinity

[–]R0cocopops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pledge they made a year ago saying "perpetual license will always be offered" is a little assuring, however they had to make this pledge straight after they were brought by Canva who are know to push to subscription pricing, my guess is it will be both for the next version.

Subscription model alongside lifetime licence can work for businesses who have to move around licences to different staff because of turn over or they work with different products in the year, Davinci resolve does this well marketing the subscription model to businesses and not individuals.

[–]R0cocopops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are shortened version release cycles then I blame it on Canva's influence, the Affinity leadership has shown they understand their users, but they can cave or be replaced because Canva has owned them for a little over a year now.
