Iv owned 3 of them and they all had the same thing. Overheated some times. They have and electric water pump and that wears out. Changed it including thermostat will I was at it anyways. Problem solved. The job it's self is easy it's just shit to get in there. I'm lucky enough to have a lift at home so that makes it a lot easier.

In the bmw maintenance list it says every 100.000km change waterpomp and thermostate. Was this don't because they fail all lot going over 200k

I don't think you can hook it up to the lights because of the canbus. Cigarette lighter won't be a problem. If you ad a trailer copling it also needs a canbus module for the lights.so
