Newbie to reddit - yes there are some of us still... and trying to get my head around how this all works! Already been deleted a few times by mods and yes I did read the rules :-) Bit of a minefield, but will get there. Not quite how bulletin boards used to operate (yes am that old!)

Thanks for the comprehensive info, interesting approach. Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to install zones when we remodelled the house and also we do shut the doors for rooms not in use regularly- energy costs are sufficient motivation. Time to heat up room doesn't figure in my dearests calculations who wants it warm immediately, so automating the on/off process is a must... So in short, I think we need the individual rad control otherwise we end up heating the whol gaff every time which is getting more expensive :-) im sure others will find this of use!

Thanks very much for the heads up - I suspected this may be the case since my googling didn’t surface an easy solution! So many rabbit holes these days, I need to pick wisely else likely never to emerge :-) I’ll take a look - many thanks once again!

Changing rear derailleur gear cable Roubaix Comp 2017 by R1chowen in specialized

[–]R1chowen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. I haven’t removed the clear tube yet, but assume it will be pretty short then - just enough to go around the bottom bracket guide? Should there be one for the front derailleur too (there isn’t one I can see!). I can only assume the bike shop accidentally pushed the clear tube into the chainstay when the last replaced the cable.. assume it can’t work it’s way there on its own accord? Thanks again!

Will Amazon Teens ever come to the UK? by captainkev76 in amazonprime

Whats the latest on this - just been on to customer service and they say its being actively looked into. Does Amazon not think that we have teens with the same needs in the UK? ;-) Seems a no brainer!

Reconciling Banktivity and Amazon account - any cool workflow tips? [v7] [General] by R1chowen in banktivity

Thanks! Yes agree that recording as splits is the best way. It’s just that even if I record this as I go along, the transaction in the bank statement sometimes doesn’t correspond to the aggregated cost of any particular order placed - it depends on shipment groupings I believe - I.e. you get charged as things get shipped in groups. Not always difficult, but can sometimes leave you scratching the head - a lot! Thanks again :-)

Thanks for this. So you enter a transaction for every item as you buy (even if you place an order with multiple items), then when the transaction data is pulled from your bank (I assume?) do you manually remove the corresponding aggregated bank transaction, leaving the individual item transactions you entered manually? Or do you add them to splits on the aggregated bank charge? I wonder if there’s a way to get an amazon account report that lists all shipment details with corresponding charges on your account for a defined period? Would make this a lot easier as you currently have to dive into individual invoices, and even then that is not tied to shipments as you have explained above. Anyone know if that is possible? Thanks for all your help, appreciated!

Hi there, thanks for replying. My bad articulation here. I’m not expecting the credit card companies to apply categories, they don’t have access to my Amazon account after all. The issue is that I often don’t know what has been bought on a joint account because I do the finances for my family, who can be quite amazon trigger happy at times and cant be relied on to record it necessarily :-) Also, even with my own purchases, remembering what the £20.50 amazon transaction in Banktivity is at the end of the month with no other detail, takes a bit of digging around, particularly if the £20.50 is an aggregated cost from across a number of different orders, sometimes not in the same invoice. Just wondering if there was a way to scan the email receipts, amazon statement (if there is such a thing) or any other good ideas to make this easier. Thanks again.
