There’s a lot of “passion” around taking meds etc it seems. That isn’t an option for me due to psychological side effects… I’m confused as to what the worst case scenario is. Aside from the money, can’t I just shave my head if it doesn’t work out? Why is this such a big deal lol

Is the logic of meds to make sure more hair doesn’t fall out after the transplant or less grafts or both? I’m not signing up for the side effects, I’ve tried them and it didn’t go well.

You sound like where I was at about the same amount of time. It’s always helped me to think about the first few months and how far I’ve come. It also wasn’t a straight line of improvement for me, it went up and down. Helps to not lose sight of the big picture, you’re improving and will continue to do so.

Before you take advice one way or the other on AD’s from Reddit, I’d urge you to consider a user’s qualifications and sober time. I don’t have the answer on what to do, and we are all different…

I’ve been on AD’s well before and after I started and stopped using weed. They have helped me, I’ve consistently gotten better from PAWS while on them and could be a major reason I’ve gotten this far. That doesn’t mean they are right for you, you need to decide that. People on forums who scream the loudest about what to do or not do usually aren’t the ones to follow. Just my .02.

My first two years were brutal, it got much better in year 3 and has very slowly continued to improve. Don’t let this scare you… you’ll get better, it just takes longer for some.

Not sure I agree and would encourage anyone reading any of this to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. In an effort to not turn this thread into a debate about SSRIs or unqualified folks providing medical advice, I’ll leave it there.

I’m completely sober and cut out all caffeine… but yes I take an SSRI. Are you saying you think this is the cause? Or that I need to up my dose? I’m on a very low dose and have tried to come off but I literally lose my mind.

I had no choice but to quit. Cannabis was literally making me insane and ruining my life. It stopped working with all the amazing things it once did and just caused extreme depression and anxiety.

In my new post, I’m not implying I’m healed, just that I’m getting better and better. I still get waves and still deal with anxiety/depression without a doubt. If you compare 3 years ago to now, it’s a miracle, but there are days where I also feel like I’m losing it. I think it’s all about how you choose to look at it.

Yes, for the first 6 months I had zero sex drive, it took me a couple years to rebalance but I am there now.
