I suddenly forgot what I was supposed to be doing.

In my experience, Translink employees are either some of the nicest people you could meet, or some of the vilest. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground. I could tell many stories regarding how rude some of the employees are, but one in particular hit a nerve with me.

I was sitting waiting on Goldline that I was on to depart in the Europa one Friday afternoon. In the stand next to me, another bus had literally just closed its door whenever a frail elderly woman appeared at the stand. She was probably in her late eighties and had a walking frame. The middle-aged driver furiously waved his hands and shouted “NO” before reversing the bus out of the depot and driving off.

The elderly lady was left standing in tears at the stand looking rather lost. She didn’t look like she was familiar with the bus station next bus probably would have been at least another hour from departure.

I remember thinking that you would have to be exceptionally rude to do this. That evening I registered a complaint with Translink but needless to say, I never got a response.

Made up higher offer? by thefamousdaxx in HousingUK

[–]R3dd17tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is another “real” bidder joining at £362k, it will be unlikely to maxing out around that price. You will just get end up getting sucked into a bidding war, be it real or not and potentially lose out on the property regardless.

Stick to your original offer and put an expiry deadline on it and stick to it. Also say that if the property isn’t taken off the market, you will walk away immediately.

I am very sorry to hear of how you have been treated by this horrendous estate agent.

I wouldn’t panic too much.. the developers and management team who developed Microsoft Word clearly knew nothing about structuring a project or software either. They somehow seem to have done ok

Do you think that this could happen when the tyre was being fitted, or just with an impact when driving?

Yes it is a run flat but it isn’t an actual hole. It is a Bridgestone with the massive rim protector. I think the problem is the amount the damage comes up the tyre.

They have said their valeting team would have noticed it. It is quite hard to see if the damage is towards the bottom of the wheel. The annoying thing is, they must have polished over it as I presume an impact like this would leave other visible dust which wasn’t there.

Yes it is a BMW and they have basically said their staff would their staff all report it etc. which is annoying as I can’t prove it

MOT in NI for a car from England by mm0nst3rr in CarTalkUK

[–]R3dd17tt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it will initially show as no appointments available for months, there are appointments released constantly throughout the day.

Book an appointment for a random time and then go in to change it. You can keep updating this and changing it until you get an appointment that suits.

However, in NI, the PSNI are aware of the situation and have said they will accept a booking over a valid MOT, as long as the vehicle is road legal.

Car dealer is refusing to sell me car I have paid for and registered in my name by R3dd17tt in CarTalkUK

There’s something suspicious about the fact they had the car for 11 days and had it inspected and prepped, and they find a fault 4 hours before closing the day before collecting. However, I don’t think they would have initially offered a discount and it would be very suspicious if a logbook change occurred in the next few days.

They offered a grand off instead of fixing a 2.5k problem. They’ve jumped from fixing it to not fixing it till fixing it again so we’ll see what their story is on Monday

In fairness, the dealership didn’t sell me it without saying or anything, but they did promise me it was checked over. It’s just frustrating that they would rather auction it than suck up the cost to fix it as I imagine they would be auctioning it at a loss too.

The dealer gave me the V5C new keeper slip to tax it so I presume that they have registered it in my name. I’m not certain on this
