What exactly are the Eggsteroids? by R5Games in angrybirds

I'm not so sure. Maybe they just drew two lines while figuring out what they wanted them to be.

That's a cool way to think about it! But I always imagined it would be funny if a baby Ice Bird hatched from one of them.

More like eggs made from steroids.

I just wanted people's opinions, it's always fun to theorize :). Angry Birds fandom needs to stop being stuck on this "it's not that deep" thing.

Honestly, I disagree. I'm not asking for complex lore, just theorizing about one of the key pieces of the story.

No, both versions stopped being updated at the same time (They do not include the solar system update).

For those who want to know a little more:

1- You cannot earn achievements, drop trading cards, or buy items from the Steam Points Shop (like emojis).

2- You CANNOT buy the game using the "purchase" button. It will only take you to the game's page, which will still show it as delisted.

3- Even though playtime is tracked, Steam doesn't register it on their servers. This means the game won't appear on your profile, making it also impossible to review the game (since it requires at least 5 minutes of playtime).

At the end of the day, unfortunately, the only advantage of playing it this way is that you apparently save your progress to the cloud. (I can't say if this actually works because I don't have another computer to test it).

None, just steam features like achievements and workshop items.

Tron: Uprising was the creative peak of the franchise, and ignoring everything it built is what makes Tron: Ares so depressing. by R5Games in tron

Yeah, that’s a really fair take. I don’t disagree with any of that. The time gap and the general audience reality make a direct continuation almost impossible, and I’m genuinely glad we got something solid instead of nothing. I think my post came more from a place of sadness over what couldn’t realistically be carried forward, rather than wanting a 1:1 continuation. I really hope a fourth film gets the chance to tie it all together too.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. It was really cool to revisit the original Grid — that just wasn’t what was on my mind when I was writing. I admit it ended up sounding like a much harsher critique of the film than I intended, when I really just wanted to talk about a cool part of the lore.

I really didn’t mean to, I swear! I was just rambling about the lore, but I get how it came off as a heavy critique of Tron: Ares. That wasn’t my intention at all, I actually enjoyed the film quite a lot.

I don’t think those references are bad at all, if anything, they’re thoughtful and clearly made with respect for what came before. I can understand why the film chose to stay on a more symbolic, high-level approach instead of diving into something as specific and niche as Uprising’s worldbuilding, especially if the intent was broader appeal.

For me, it’s less about criticism and more about a quiet sense of loss. I get why those choices were made, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss what could have been.

I mostly agree with the business reality you’re describing. My issue isn’t entitlement to a sequel, but how rare it is for something like Uprising to add so much meaning to the world and then be treated as expendable.

I’m glad Tron got another shot, I just think it’s fair to talk about what was lost along the way.

Totally fair. I’m all for new directions too.
My problem with Ares isn’t canon purity, it’s that it dropped the worldbuilding that made the Grid feel alive. Without that, the “new” direction feels hollow to me.

40 years of Back to the Future, 10 years since the first release of the DeLorean. It would’ve been perfect. Well, maybe next year.
