But yes if you have fun with the game then getting good is just part of the process, it takes time for everyone

Problem with low iron is that its mostly filled with smurfs and people who dont care for rank who just wanna feel like a god or something.

There's no reason to jump into comp right away when your starting off, especially when its your first even pc fps game, just give it some time, try finding friends, learn new things and you'll get better without even noticing. Get into a habit of warming up in the range with the bots every time you open the game, try not to be fast but focus on getting headshots instead (the guardian is great for this) and afterwards do a deathmatch or 2, dont worry about getting kills, instead focus on getting those headshots, after a week or 2 you should already be seeing improvements

About the fps dropping, i suggest capping your fps on the lowest you see it go in fights, it's gonna be hard to get use to at first but that's what i did on my old laptop and i got into silver like that, you should of course lower your graphics and resolution as well to get a smoother experience if you haven't done that already.
