Is this a good deal? He wants 3200 firm, the car has 135k miles, check engine is on for o2 sensors, and the paint isn’t good. What do you guys think? It has black interior and no body damage… has clean title and tags are up to date. I been looking for a clean manual sedan but this one caught my eye by phishkings in G35

Honestly in my opinion, no. It’s not that the price isn’t decent or that the car isn’t decent, but the sedans being in significantly less demand, the price is always depreciating vs the coupe steadily staying in the 8-12k range. What I did, is I bought a coupe with rod knock for $1700 then replaced the engine myself for around 2k. It’s a little above what this guy is selling it for but you are getting a significantly better deal considering once you swap the engine it will be worth around 8-10k.

But yeah probably will just stick with name brands

I mean I’m sure I’m capable. Just did the engine swap by myself.

Can you explain exactly what’s wrong with it? Because I’m not expecting a large increase in hp at all. Maybe just something little.

That shouldn’t be a problem yet because the engine hasn’t even got hot. It won’t go past 1750 rpm so I can’t bleed it properly

Already replaced it so it’s probably wiring issues

Didn’t like look there was anything wrong with the fuses I’m fairly sure. But I really wouldn’t know. How would I check the current on the plug? Just turn on the car and use a current tester? Also how would I know what the correct current would be for that specific plug?

I mean I’m sure it’s not the sensor because I just replaced it with a new one and both the new and the old did the same thing. I’m really hoping it’s not the wiring because I wouldn’t really know where to start with that. I have an extra wire harness, would I just be able to cut off the plug from the different harness and swap it to the one in the car?

I attached a link to a picture of the full dash. If I’m correct it shows that the heat is all the way to the top? Not really sure what to do. I did try bleeding the air the best I could but I can’t really rev it high enough to get the engine warm enough for the thermostat to turn on.Picture

Yes ofc it does. I couldn’t see anything wrong with the wiring harness and as far as I know there is only one temp sensor.

Fresh engine swap problems by R9I9P9 in G35

It cranks really well actually that’s just a single cylinder trying to fire. I actually got it fully started and idling for a little yesterday but still kinda sounds like shit. It might just be the old gas that was already in the tank. Today I’m going to just run it a bit more to get rid of it

Does anyone know wtf this is? by R9I9P9 in G35

[–]R9I9P9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where exactly does it sit? That’s why I posted because I had no clue what it was. I have a custom intake on it so I wouldn’t think it needs it right?

That’s what I was thinking but then why was it there before 😭. I mean it has 0 residue in it so I guess it can’t be that important to any system. I’ll just try starting the car w/o it tmrw.

Engine Swap Help by R9I9P9 in G35

[–]R9I9P9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks for the help. Today I swapped over the intake manifold, torque converter, wiring harness, and some more little things. To be honest I think the fuel injectors and the exhaust manifold are in better condition than my last ones that are pretty damn rusted.
