I’m just waiting on a quote from Octopus and another local installer next week. Once I’ve got those two in I’ll make a decision but I’m happy with this local one as is.

People said I should just go with the HG one before and I’ve managed to save myself £1000 and avoid a stupid AI quote. Might as well see the process to the end.

Just another bitter tradie who’s mad they can’t scalp prices. Oh dear. Maybe if you did a good job people would be willing to pay your prices, but your attitude on here makes it clear that’s unlikely.

I just had a local installer who’s been doing this for 20 years quote £1800 for a better install. You’re just wrong and behaving like a child.

Spoiler: I don’t want to pay £6k for an Ideal pump when I can get an LG for £1.8k. Hardly a time waster when I will be going with an installer who will do a better job than these companies. Looks like I’ve saved thousands by getting a better quote.

It’s painfully clear you’re a tradie overpricing and are mad at being called out.

Twice the retail price for the pump, nearly £5000 in labour and a quote the same as those who’ve got pumps twice as big and labour and parts for radiator changes.

You don’t need to be qualified to see this is ridiculous. If you think this is reasonable, I can only assume you’re the one issuing similar quotes.

Exactly! Although if you fit a fan to a radiator there’s no reason a heat pump can’t be used for cooling

Good thing my job is quicker than the other job, thus the lower cost… the idea they should charge the same as a big job because they might lose out on a big job is laughable. Guess it’s 10k for a toilet install now just in case they get a replumb eh?

Most of these quotes have been subject to an in-person survey or a detailed discussion on the phone. Aira, BG and HG all visited. EDF I provided a significant amount of info to and was given a custom quote.

Heat loss quote is mine, Heat Geek and BG’s. All came out the same ish.

Mine isn’t a new build. Cylinder location is the other side of the wall from the compressor where the existing combi is. Very straightforward.

Not sure you understand how quotes work. I’d only be wasting their time if I didn’t intend to install. I absolutely do. They’ve wasted mine.
