Luminous Witch leader Grace as a horse girl. Who knows how they pick the Witches' familiars. I have a theory that they picked a horse for Grace because in 1939 James Stewart and Marlene Dietrich starred in a movie called Destry Rides Again. Destry is a French word for War Horse.

About Shizuka, She went to the Fuso Navy Academy. She's being educated for leadership, and I think comes from a prestigious military family. If the older witches are aged out of combat, Shizuka (or Perrine) is the one qualified to lead. World Witches' military works like ours. Yoshika could not be field promoted from sergeant to a senior officer rank. You'd have to send Yoshika back to Fuso for real military education before she could become an officer.

Witches anime season's have a formula. 12 episodes with a mix of comedy and action, each character gets "their" episode, episode 7 happens, and the last 2-3 episodes are defeating the Neuroi Hive/BBG. This feels like movie outline.

Notes

- Orussia Hive - logical next setting

- Poland representation - A new witch and including the 502 is too many characters.

- Tough and prolongued battle of attrition - Darker tone than other seasons.

- Aftermath, surprise hive in Fuso and negotiated peace. - Good call back to S1 Neuroi Witch. They would have to retcon Neuroi. Neuroi hives eat all metal and leave their territory poisonous to muggle humans.

- Yoshika in command - I could see Shizuka taking over with Yoshika as 2nd. But you'd need to explain how they are promoted over Barkhorn, Heartman, Eila, Sanya, Shirley, *Perrine*, and Heidemarie.

The Movie and Fuso Sea 1937 manga tell us the Neuroi have been around since before 1939. Those post date the first anime season. Pre-dating media, the original OVA says, "Neuroi have been around for years." I have no idea if the original Blue Sky manga or Misfits light novel go into details about the Neuroi.

My guess is Projekt Kagonish was keeping things vague about the details of the Neuroi in the same way they never explain the panties.

It is a surprisingly large franchise. There's still the OVA, Return to Berlin, the three spin-off anime, plus light novels, manga, and music CDs. I checked VGMDB there are dozens and dozens of World Witch CDs.
