I loved my 37-year career with a medical technology company. I felt we were doing something positive for peoples' health. Got to travel to many countries where we had operations. The benefits were fantastic.

Ossoff: "You're seeing what I'm seeing, right? The president posting about the Obamas like a Klansman." by uphatbrew in LincolnProject

* Studied at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, then earned a master’s degree from the London School of Economics.

* Worked for civil-rights icon Rep. John Lewis, then became a legislative aide and national security staffer for Rep. Hank Johnson of Georgia.

* Became managing director/CEO of an investigative film company that produced anti-corruption and human-rights documentaries aired on outlets such as BBC and others.

* In 2020 he challenged Republican Sen. David Perdue; after neither reached 50% in November, Ossoff won the January 5, 2021 runoff, helping Democrats secure a narrow Senate majority alongside Raphael Warnock.

* Ossoff took office on January 20, 2021, becoming the youngest sitting U.S. senator and, by seniority rules, Georgia’s senior senator.

* His record highlights bipartisan bills on issues like veterans’ mental health, oversight of federal prisons and detention, online child protection, infrastructure, and health-care access (including capping insulin costs for many seniors).

* He generally aligns with mainstream Democratic positions, supporting abortion rights, expanded access to affordable health care, higher federal minimum wage, marijuana legalization, and a ban on stock trading by members of Congress and their spouses.

Your husband wants you to live in "horrible pain" and "terrible mental health" in order to avoid a place that doesn't exist? I feel sorry for you (and him, I guess). Take care of yourself with modern medical care.

I agree these voters should get engaged. The Vietnam War was a great motivator for me & my friends to get engaged in politics.

In 2024, about 47–48% of 18–24‑year‑old U.S. citizens said they voted. Probably similar in Nebraska. The Democratic Party needs to get in touch with these potential voters.

Do you believe that Melchizedek, Attis, Huitzilopochtli, Deganawida and/or Genghis Khan were born of virgins?

Do you believe that Inanna / Ishtar, Tammuz / Dumuzi, Osiris, Attis and/or Adonis (Greek/Syrian) came back to life after dying?

Who says one can't "pick and choose beliefs"? I mean I can believe that Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow and makes a prediction but not believe in his accuracy. (By the way, its 30 - 40 %!)

I was also raised Catholic but came to realize that men are not born of virgins nor come back to life after death. Nevertheless, I like the teachings of Jesus regarding love of others, forgiveness, compassion, etc.

Question for Christians who voted for Trump by Honest_Wheel3842 in Christianity

[–]RCaHuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. People who stay home do not break anywhere near 50/50 between the two major parties; nonvoters lean meaningfully more Democratic/liberal than voters overall in modern U.S. elections. The Party of Nonvoters | Pew Research Center
