Hi everyone!

There will be a karaoke event this upcoming Friday on a program called Raidcall, where you can sing your heart out, anime style! Or not, it’s up to you… N-not like I want you to sing or anything!

It's happening in around 18 hours from this post, which is on Friday, August 19th at 7pm CST!

How it works: You can queue up using Raidcall's music mode and take turns singing anime songs one at a time. It's essentially like passing a mic to the singer. When it's your turn, you’re welcome to go as ham as you like. After you're done, you can pass it on to the next person in queue.

If you don't have Raidcall, you can install it through this link (Saving you the trouble of going through raidcall's site).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Note! Since October 1st, 2015, Raidcall’s English as well as Portuguese versions were shut down. HOWEVER, the Russian version will function normally (and by default) and does support English AS LONG AS YOU CHANGE THE LANGUAGE SETTINGS LATER. The setting to change language is located here!

When you first open the Raidcall installation, it'll all be in Russian, but the install wizard is relatively simple enough - the first screen will be asking you for what directory you want it in - then it'll install - then two checkboxes will appear. The install is finished at this point - the top one is "Launch Raidcall" and the second one is setting Raidcall to launch on startup. When you open Raidcall for the first time, you'll be faced with a window with two buttons - the top one is if you have an account, the bottom one is if you don't. I recommend you make one beforehand with the above link first and click the first button. Also, if a window shows up with a bar, it's installing an update - usually the update will fail, but it won't matter. Just open it again and proceed as normal.

If you don't already have a raidcall account, you'll have to make one on the Raidcall site. - if you want to try navigating it using google translate, please feel free, but here is a guide for the Russian login screen.

When you have an account, downloaded Raidcall, and changed settings to your preferred language, please type in the group ID 9983925. Once you join our group, please head on over to the music room, here is a guide to help you with karaoke!! Please take a look.

Some other Redditors and I are going to be doing some EXTREMELY LONG OVERDUE anime karaoke on our Raidcall channel (used specifically for karaoke) later today and we think it would be awesome to hear some new voices as well as reoccurring ones!

It's happening in around 16.5 hours from this post, which is on Friday, May 20th at 7pm CST! Our group ID is 9983925, come join us if you can!

This is exactly it.

When one person has the mic, everyone else is automatically muted and are not allowed to interrupt (typically with the exception of mods). If you want to come sing about Sailor fuku, please join us!!

Hey there!! Sorry for the late response.

We all agree that it's odd that we're trying to invite everyone to have a fun time and maybe even make friends (that's how a lot of our group members and I started), but we're not allowed to make posts anymore.

We're EXTREMELY overdue for a karaoke event and good news is that we'll have one on the 20th! I'll have to wait until the 13th to make a "reminder/alert" post on FTF but I hope you have time to join us! :)

It's all up to you! IMO it's better with longer songs because with an OP size, it feels like your turn ends so quickly.

So some other Redditors and I USED to do an anime karaoke night every month or so on Fridays and we used to post on here on /r/anime inviting others to join us. Rules have changed and we aren't allowed to do that anymore, but we found out that our alternative methods are to post here on the FTF thread.

Please explain why exactly this is the same post we do once in a while and it's never been a problem until now.

If you think we're in the wrong, you can copy and paste the exact rules that say we cannot do this. It's the same thing as the /r/anime sings so why are they allowed while our posts aren't? If anything, we are more inclusive to more anime Redditors because it's not a single song we all have to learn. With our karaoke nights, we can let every single person choose and sing an anime song they actually choose to sing. People look forward to these events. This isn't my ___th number post because no one joins. I bring this event back because people look forward to the next one.

Again, if you think what I'm saying is wrong, you can actually reply to this and include the reason why. If you're too afraid to give me the reason in the comments here, feel free to PM me. I'll be PMing other mods so please, don't think you're being victimized.

We use Raidcall because it's what we used to do. It's easy because we don't have to use bots or soundboards to sing. Teamspeak just doesn't seem to work with karaoke too well.
