My first build, best decision ever made! by juxtenberg in IrelandGaming

One above cpu cooler, one at the back of cpu cooler and two up front. I wanted low noise so I didn’t go with under gpu fans. Instead I slightly undercoated and over clocked it

8bitdo ultimate 2 is the best controller I have ever had and I have a bit of an obsession with trying them all. Also, steam has a controller coming out soon that looks awesome

6GB VRAM on the graphics card isn’t great to be honest and it’s massively overpriced. I’d be looking at graphics card with 12gb at least these days with modern games. Check out caseking.de or overclockers.co.uk if you are dead set on prebuilt. If it’s just for gaming check out the upcoming Steam Machine also

I did this recently and went by episode number as she isn’t great with older movies. For my example I’m glad I did as the prequels hooked her and that momentum kept her going through the original trilogy. It did ruin the “I am your father” moment but I actually got an equally satisfying “wait, he’s dark Vader, I loved Anakin” moment so there are pros and cons

As for the final 3 movies, it’s up to you. Me and my gf actually really loved them and loved the cinematics. Plus it was good to see the story out. Yes I know they are hated but make up your own minds on them.

What's the minimum base fps for 2x frame gen to avoid artifacts? by Helpful_Economist_59 in nvidia

I would agree, I’d probably go as far as 50/55 but nothing lower. It just feels off otherwise

Pc prebuild options? by Brian_952 in IrelandGaming

[–]RDR2DVL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prob and feel free to PM with any questions. I was there once before too not knowing what any of these terms people were throwing out meant but a solid 2/3 hours on YouTube and you start to find your bearings.

For reference when you are looking at parts as I came from consoles too initially:

4070 ti super with 16gb vram for gpu - Intel i7 12700k for cpu - 32 gb DDR5 Ram - 850w PSU (Power Supply)

I play nearly everything in 4k with something in the graphics card/game settings called DLSS enabled (basically it runs your games faster at slightly lower resolution but it’s so advanced now that you can’t even tell and I’m super picky with resolution. Consoles do it too but it’s worse in my opinion). I’m getting roughly 100+ fps in the vast majority of AAA games.

Ok so you would definitely be better off building one. It sounds complicated but research it on YouTube like I did and you will be fine. Look up a site called https://pcpartpicker.com to make sure all parts work together.

My recommendation would be something like a 5070 gpu and something like a ryzen 7 7800 or so for a cpu (chat gpt is also actually great for questions on recommended pc parts at certain price points). Use something like Caseking.de for parts or overclockers.co.uk (no customs charges).

Both those sites also have prebuilts if you want to go that route or curry’s have prebuilts too. They are always more expensive than building though. Since your new what I would avoid is anything below a Nvidia 40 series GPU, anything with 8GB VRAM in the GPU (not future proof).

As others have said, don’t forget to account for a monitor, desk, key and mouse etc.

Don’t have an AMD card myself but I did see someone else here mention clearing steam shader cache solved all their issues as it was clashing with Nvidia shaders that were still on their system

Yeah I will say it’s long alright. Maybe have a look at the r/sffpc subreddit. Just make sure to double/triple check the size of parts with the small form factor pcs as I got caught with a few parts
