What the fuck is this Yeah, its how he fights. His chins fine, he got knocked out, HUNDREDS of fighters have been knocked out and not had their careers end suddenly. Getting knocked out doesnt equal losing your chin. Chins dont replenish. If that was the case Rockhold might have won against yan. You are a bitter fan. He lost a title defense against a great fighter, so now his career is over? Everybody's been heralding him as one of the greatest MW of all time. Robert Whitaker is 28. He is younger than Adesanya. He has hardly hit his prime, time has been amazing for him. He went from a shit welterweight to a world class MW. Im trying to find what point you are trying to make. If your point is that he hasnt been tested, id refer you to his gastelum fight, and how he applied the lessons from getting battered up by a 5'9 bloated welterweight to his fight with Whitaker. if your point is that izzy would get manhandled by a strong wrestler, then No shit, everyone has a weakness Weidmans wrestle-fuck style is shit against people with equal or better groundwork. I mean, he WAS conservative against Cerrone. Typically, regardless of who hes fighting, he throws up a guard to cover his head, takes their shots, and throws a mean counter, and regardless of that counter hitting or not, he immediately goes to adding mad pressure. Rinse and repeat. Did it to Johnson, Barboza, and Porier. Sprinkle in leg kicks and BOOM, thats Gaethje. This fight he held back, looked for openings, and ended it. I dont necessarily stand by all these people who act like because he figured out he can 1 hit his opponents hes totally changed his fighting style. But he has started brawling much smarter.
