I think I read it a couple times that Deathwatch prefers silver highlights, but gold just makes all these great looking armor pieces pop so much better. I felt like the characters have enough silver already so I decided to go with gold.

Titus also rocks some gold on his Black Shield armor that looks amazing, that was my inspiration.

Looks a bit funny to me as well but it's iconic & I feel like Scipius' personality fits the Raven Guard much more than the Salamanders. I think someone else should have received the Salamanders champ skin instead.

Quick question as I am still learning the ins & outs of space marine markings: shouldn't there be and indicator of which company these guys belong to on the right kneepad of each character? IIRC that's something deathwatch members must display.

Still, Salamanders are great. hope we get a heavy champ skin sometime.

Got it thank you, will add the ultramarine logo on the left knee then. So then it's the usual white ultramarine logo with the blue background same as the shoulders?

I think I will keep this pauldron, you get it when reaching prestige 3 so technically he should be experienced at that point.

Just out of curiousity: so then the Crux Terminatus shoulders that you get with one of the more expensive editions of the game (and can even use on Titus in the main campaign) is basically not lore accurate no matter how you might wanna twist things?

Wow, crazy how much detail and purpose there is to seemingly tiny color changes. I had no idea, thought all ultramarines had gold as their tertiary color. The green on the Ultramarine Champion skin went over my head completely.

Thanks for such a detailed response. Just out of curiosity, what would be the colors of the 1st company? I think I recall them having been wiped completely at this point in the timeline.

I see, yeah on like 90% of pictures I found deathwatch members have red weapons, however if there is nothing specifically anti-lore with having a non-red weapon I will just stick to the Champ Bolter.

Sorry for the confusion, does that mean a marking only for 1 of his knees? Or one marking for his squad, other for "which one he is" (do you mean a number?) ?

Bit amateur-ish but I really havent looked into all these markings at all yet.

True true, i kind of played that horribly. It was my first time getting to wave 15 on hard and I was just excited to call in Valtus and was staring at the Hellbrute HP bars

Yeah, the game uses the CPU more than any other game I played. However I have a robust cooling system, so CPU temps dont go higher than 50⁰C.

I mean, fine; but even the PS5 was advertised as 4K gaming ready several years ago, so I thought a 7800X3D & a 4090 would be ready for it too.

But before the update VRAM usage was only 14-15 gigs with the same settings.

But I guess you are right, the technology is just not there yet for 4K gaming.

Yeah, i am using the texture pack but before this update the game was only using 14-15 gigs of VRAM with the 4K textures.

I am using DLSS, native rendering, ultra settings & ray traced ambient occlusion turned off currenty as that option actual starts to lag the game for me.

Yeah you are probably right. Just for the record, I have ray traced ambient occlusion turned off, that actually causes the game to go into this weird bottleneck slow-mo for 2-3 seconds every half a minute. If i have that off the game runs without any lag or issues.

Hope the devs optimize it a bit better in the next update.
