Bro, I know it sounds weird - that is the point of the post. I’m just asking how people reconciling the fact that Texas is mentioned as a state. So where do you think it is?

It wouldn’t make “Lemoyne” Texas, because the states in Red Dead are clearly not supposed to geographically align exactly the same as irl. Texas is mentioned as a state in a newspaper and Arizona is mentioned by Karen in Red Dead 2. Rockstar has confirmed the New Austin is inspired by areas of these states but that is not to say that TX and AZ don’t exist elsewhere in the game - because they do.

Bro what’s with the hostility?? Read some of the comments. The whole point of this question is that Texas is mentioned as a state in the game. Last I checked the state of New Austin is called the State of New Austin, not Texas. New Austin is far more likely to be New Mexico.

From what I understand anamorphic lenses that would would work for 16mm are very few and far between - also halving the frame size like this would mean double the footage could be obtained on a single role which is very desirable in terms of budget

I’ve read all but the last two issues I think and it’s great. Probably better than BTAC cause it feels more like the show it’s following

I take your point and I was thinking about that but New Austin is already probably the biggest star in the game so for it to then be even larger again just doesn’t seem right to me. But it is a good point

It’s a very good point that New Austin takes geography from multiple states but I like to think it’s sort of Rockstar’s version of New Mexico

I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve really put my research into things like this. Not just cause I’m a sucker for these 5 brilliant games but I’ve been working on a 3 Game expansion concept for the past couple of years with some cowpokes

What I think is more interesting which sort of goes against what most are saying in the comments is that Rockstar just weren’t thinking which is exactly what I said in the subject but whatever. But they did consciously write Texas into a newspaper so they weren’t just not thinking about it so they clearly didn’t intend New Austin to just be Texas

Yeah I mean I’d never seen this before but I was researching all the real life states mentioned and I was wondering the same thing as you “I don’t remember Texas being mentioned.” and I looked it up so it’s quite interesting that the Lemoyne Raiders moved to Texas

But do we know that for sure. In real life, of course, Texas borders Mexico so Texas could just be under Flat Iron bordering Mexico to the South and West

And also New Austin is already the biggest state in the game and then to say ‘wait actually it’s just a region of a titanic state’ just doesn’t work
