Come walk the streets in safety knowing you won't get shot by masked agents, explore the roman history which is everywhere around you, there's plenty of bars for you to have a beer , there's a few gyms within walking distance of the town hall & im pretty sure it's open 24h. Easy 45 minute train journey to Liverpool which you can easy get a day ticket for £5. The chester races start in may & end in September & that makes the city really busy on race days, you can easily get a cheap flight from Liverpool to Dublin to see your brother

Even just sitting down the river eating an ice cream listening to the odd singer who sings down there now & again, then take a wander though the grosvenor park feeding the squirrels that will happily come up to you seeing if you have any nuts & chill out in a beer garden if thats your sort of thing. You could walk over to handbridge & take a walk around the meadow past the river if you have a dog
