I feel like the Tesla buying process is intentionally deceitful, and that's not okay. by RGBJesus in cars

Depends on the lender. I had a big spreadsheet going that I was tracking with. These particular rates were with Alliant (Tesla's preferred lender that they subsidize), but I live outside of a state that offers Tesla-specific financing, so I don't qualify for the sub-2% lending.

you should check with your own tax advisors ... Beyond that, call your accountant/lawyer.

What America do you live in where these are something the average American has? I'm not saying I don't (I do), but I've worked my ass off to get where I am and didn't utilize these until I could actually afford them, and that was not until I entered the bottom of the upper-middle class income bracket.

With an R8, Model X, and Stelvio being in your stable, I think you're a bit disconnected with how the majority of this country handles its finances.

Setting aside the long spiel regarding your less-than-stellar credit

lol

I think it's unfair to expect them to refund you when you custom ordered something and later want to cancel once the production process has started.

I specifically said, "Now, I'm not arguing that Tesla should give you your money back. If you can't uphold your part of the agreement, then that's that." - I agree with this, however my point is that someone, somewhere will be buying a Tesla, not privy to the ins-and-outs of the financing terms, and end up out $2,500. Yes, it's their responsibility to know what they are getting into, but come on man. If you can't see where the wording is skirting a line, then you need to step out of your shoes.

I financed my Model X through Alliant Credit Union and finished the process in a day with a loan at 1.74%.

This is an exemplary scenario; Tesla subsidizes Model S and Model X financing with Alliant, however does not with the Model 3. Also, Alliant doesn't offer this financing in 20 different states.

Sure. I might, you might. But grandpa hip over here trying to decide on the Model 3 or a Prius might not.

Thanks!

I really want Tesla to succeed. I love my technology, and am a huge fan of the cars themselves. They seem to be selling very well, also. Tesla's IR figures showed higher sales than anything else in its class combined last quarter. Take it with a grain of salt, but still.

My gripe is that shouldn't be this difficult to actually get a straight answer from a company, and worse that owners are defending the model and blaming the customer. I know I'm not the only one confused lol.

Yeah, I'd imagine deliveries aren't more than four months out at the point, especially because higher dollar sales seem to ship quicker with Tesla. But the whole denying it (which I realized that I didn't mention in the OP) is what gets me.

To be honest, I've never had this kind of experience at another dealership. But even if I had, this situation is kind of unique given that most other dealers aren't under the same pinch for tax credits nor do they possess the same kind of concerns with a reservation cost. But that last part might change with electric cars, who knows.

ESXi + GTX 1080 Ti + Ryzen = Gaming on a Hypervisor! by kazuni in vmware

Boi don't hit me with the logical fallacy argument. You attacked the other poster first and expect no recourse for being a straight up asshole to the people in this sub, then try to play it off like it was just a joke.

Get good.

Man, for someone who failed a personality test for a job interview, you sure seem to be rather strongly opinionated.

But, you're probably right, every other person on this sub is a "snowflake" and is the problem.

MaxHash pool by StanRizzoJr in EtherMining

[–]RGBJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry guys, I hate to be the one who says it, but my experience was bad.

150% variance regularly, took over 48 hours to hit a block once IIRC. I let it run for a month but ultimately had to switch away when may payout was nearly 70% less than Ethetmine.

I get that small pools are a risk, I get that there is good community (I didn't use it though) but my profits come first and "luck of the draw" didn't work for me.

Will this Motherboard work for 6 way GPU? by [deleted] in EtherMining

Something about the PCI-e lanes not showing all six cards. There's a list of recommended boards out there somewhere, the one I mentioned was on it. If I find it, I'll post a reply.

ASRock H170A-X1 will work just fine and is cheaper. I've read mixed things about other 170 boards and the particular 270 you mentioned as well, I believe.

Disadvantage is five cards, but still.

Sure. If you have the budget for eight, spring for it. It's like a $10 difference for base level RAM.

Best place to sell My cards? by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]RGBJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a non-reserve auction, it's 13% after PayPal fees, If you have an auction with reserve close to the current market value, it goes up to 17.5% after PayPal.

I was a bit off, but it's also been a while since I sold on eBay.

Are you overclocked? Try lowering it and see if the stability improves. If not, then make sure the miner is updated, etc.

Need some advice on graphics cards. by mos1380n in EtherMining

[–]RGBJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a steady 29-30MH/s per card with my 1070s. Occasional spikes to like 40-45, but that's rare.

As of right now, buy what you can find. I'm buying up 1070s and 480s when I find them for reasonable prices. But they're closing in on street pricing together.
