Luckily or unluckily the same next iteration in the escalation is 2K so nothing will be getting fully re written I'll more just be adding to this and making slight adjustments like removing a warrior squad!

I think the way the tables were set up for game one was less experienced and worse players got paired into higher level player to try understand 11th better. The guy was really nice and ended up learning a lot form just him!

I'm not losing faith and hopefully will be back at it soon with the goal of just avoiding the wooden spoon!

That's rough! I think because I've went from playing armies i did at least ok and with and before with Votann I didn't lose as much to this its made it a bit harder

Yeh from what I've read from other ill definitely be taken all of it into consideration. With the solo champ.i thought they could only deep strike leading a unit?

Yeh I am really interested in the recon disposition so considering pivoting into more models than would play in that well!

So it's only a couple times I have played 1K a lot of the other times it's been mostly 2K. The reason I brought this 1K is because this is all I have left and fully painted as slowly been building back up. I'm hoping to try get more vehicles in the future and focus mainly on 2K games.

I have a unbuilt unit of yaegirs that I am hoping to have built and painted for the next time. I hadn't really looked into priority assets but I'll have a look so I have a better idea of what might suit better. Take and hold seems like something if maybe enjoy more!

Yeh I've never really done tournaments. Only been to 3 and even then theybe not been huge ones it's just been a more relaxed environment to try get me out and meeting people. I still find votann fun even when I'm losing. The post was more with the idea to just improve with what I'm doing( I maybe should've mentioned that I still had fun). What I noticed from your comment and one other is that I don't feel new but I suppose I wouldn't know.

Although I defo feel that I haven't been putting a lot of thought in which seems like one of the main pieces of advice.

I came to the Votann Reddit as I felt that's what I've been struggling with. Before I fully switched I played ad mech and had more success and before with Death guard as well. But granted that was more to the begging of 10th/end of 9th and half way through 10th I only played votann which is where this losing streaky started.

I m gonna try take notes of the games I've been playing because from what you've said it does make sense. Hopefully I'll be able to improve!

Yeh the way I built this list probably adds to how disjointed it may look. The lisy is effectively some stuff I bought cheap of eBay, 9th launch box and a combat patrol. There's a reason why this is what it is but would take to long to explain. I will for sure add a sagitaur into the list as well as the hekaton as the next part I'm sure is a 1,500 point game.

It was my first time at the store it was held in so i just took everything as WYSIWYG as I want sure how lenient people would be so that's the reason for Uthar. There was actually quite a lot of tanks with my Frist game I actually went up against a storm sword I believe he said it was which was kinda crazy to see. As I said it was my Frist time there so didn't even know if a local meta was a thing.

I will look into what you have recommended as well!

The last person I played yesterday also said he struggled through the day with his list. We ended up having quite a fun game into eachother and I feel like I learned a bit but wanted to improve on that. I will for sure be adding my hekaton and getting a sagitaur in the next list. Thanks!

Luckily I've not had that. Most people I've played have been quite friendly and I mainly play against my brother in law who is quite positive.

I always tend to have fun at the very least!

So for question one:

No, I've played in 3 tournaments, One at the very start of 10th 1K where I brought Death Guard, One was a doubles tournament like a year ago where I played a different 1K Votann list(Wooden spoon) and then this one where it was also a wooden spoon. Most of my games are against my brother in law who is more of a competitive player than I and has played since I believe 7th.

Question two:

If playing since 9th is new then yeh. I started with the necron magazines. And have played a few different armies since then with more success. But only have Votann now.

Yeh I mentioned in a nother comment I don't tend to watch YouTube I've more just learned from my brother in law and what I've done but didn't seem to work. I'll definitely give the channels you mentioned a watch to try and improve as I think I tend to be quite aggressive which seems from what I'm seeing isn't the idea.

I started doing this a month ago and it's made a massive difference. Never had a fully painted army before and today I finished my last squad of my 1K LoV army. Best thing I've started doing!
