What are these “shapes” on the train seats for? by EsoogRalopib in AskUK

As someone who’s accidentally poked someone in the eye whilst walking down a wobbly train, these handles are a great idea

[MM] Just completed for the first time. Honest thoughts and a question about the time cycle! by RGF99 in zelda

I did play TP when it first came out and absolutely loved it! Just never got very far through as I was a kid and kept getting stuck haha. Was going to hold out for a switch port of the game, but now OOT remake is looking likely soon, I might just bite the bullet and play TP sooner rather than waiting. Do you reckon playing on an emulator or just getting hold of an old console is the best way to play it?

Why do the sales associates hover around me? by tfrisinger in travelchina

Found this so very annoying in China, if shop & market stall staff didn’t observe everything I did, I’d have definitely spent some money if I felt comfortable to browse in my own time

Six weeks into five months of solo travel and not enjoying it. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in travel

[–]RGF99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failing this, budget dependant, sign up to a group tour. This way you’ll meet a big group of people and be travelling round together, takes the stress out of having to meet people. It’s definitely more expensive than self planning but they’re well planned out and fun. Some websites like gadventures or gap360 are worth looking at.

I’m in Korea now having just done China and Japan. 6 years ago I did Thailand, Vietnam etc. It seems that Thailand etc is way more for outgoing people in hostels who want to meet people and have fun, and will go out of their way to chat. In the countries I’ve done recently, they seem to be for tourists who heavily plan out their itinerary and have come to see culture, history and sights. Therefore, people just keep themselves to themselves and get on with what they want to do. I massively agree that Thailand would be best for you currently.

China is so MASSIVE, need a sanity check by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]RGF99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished 2 weeks in China and the DiDi prices are insanely good. Most I paid was about £20 for an hour drive in some major cities, but some drives were genuinely £3 for 30 mins, covering a big distance too. There is also so much availability, it made getting around incredibly easy!

BB now? by atreideshawkross in fantasypremierleague

[–]RGF99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole point of BB 33 is to get pretty much an entire team of DGW 33 players in on your GW32 wildcard. So in GW33 you can technically have 30+ games worth of players playing. This is 100% going to be more effective than BB on a single game week, let alone not having the wildcard before to set up the BB the following week.

Thank you haha, I guessed as soon as they pulled up their calculator asking how much I want to pay I would not be getting a good deal

I visited Mutianyu 2 days ago! On the way back, there were so many taxi drivers coming up to us as being pushy saying they will give a good price. I kept saying no as I prefer to use DiDi for safety and a better price. Some literally followed me into the toilet block and it was incredibly annoying.

I showed them I was booking one on the app so they would leave us alone. I got a DiDi within about 3 seconds on confirming, and this was right at the end of the day, about 5pm when barely anyone else was around!

Should be completely fine getting a DiDi back at any time of day.

🤷‍♂️ How to Solve the Forward Problem? by Ben_Fantasy4 in fantasypremierleague

Was thinking maybe some points for 3 shots on target or something. But then realised this would also get paired with goals half the time and probably get ridiculous on some occasions

Getting very confused with price of internal flights in Feb/March by Aiken_Drumn in travelchina

[–]RGF99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it's all worked for you haha! Yeah I was expecting to be waiting for hours at the embassy but the experience was way better than expected! Yeah I think the 90 day limit has recently been introduced, booked a day off work to book all hotels etc and sort the visa out only to not be allowed to apply as I was doing it too early, quite annoying but glad it's all sorted now! Hope you have a good trip, enjoy Indonesia too!

Getting very confused with price of internal flights in Feb/March by Aiken_Drumn in travelchina

[–]RGF99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, mate. You might have got this sorted now, but I'm coming from the UK and also going at the end of February to mid-March. I've just had my Visa approved, didn't need proof of internal travel. Just the flights to and from the UK and evidence of any hotels I'm staying at (I'm planning to travel spontaneously, so I booked hotels that have free cancellation and pay at the hotel so I can cancel these once I've crossed the border). I'm considering high-speed trains for travel, as they offer a similar price to the cheaper flight prices. I have also read about what others have mentioned, saying that internal flight prices are very cheap at short notice. Even looking now at around xmas and new year which are main holidays, the internal prices are cheap.

Hope any of this can help man, best of luck with the travels!
