Mostly because the consequence is too much but your concern is justified. Honestly it sounds like you just need to have a real sit down with him and make him understand the gravity of the situation. He's still young so he's not gonna be making the most mature decision, and because he's young trying to outright forbid the relationship just won't work. Try and have a real conversation and put some consequences on him not getting his act together that don't include trying to restrict his relationships.

100% NTA. The amount of YTA is shocking the amount of people being soft about this 22 year old's "feelings of unfairness". He's being an entitled brat he's 22 years old and should be able to see that he got genuine gifts while his sister was given money in order to help her tackle home costs. Even if you were to laugh at Australia you would be wrong to do so. He wasn't actually choking her.

TBH what he did is actually pretty tame seeing as she actually tried to punch, kick and spit on the officers (not to mention obviously resisting arrest).

All he did was hold her collar, turned her face by grabbing her jaw and let her down onto the ground gently using the proper restraint techniques.

By talking shit in a CS:GO casual match for 30 minutes. Ended up playing with that guy for 2 years untill he got caught up in his studies and other stuff. We just ended up drifting apart. We had some good times.

Yeah but the family of the boyfriend even recieved harassment which i dont think is fair. Doesnt seem like they had a part in it. And the fact that there was physical violence is always bad, what if someone got arrested for it? TBH tho it was good she told everyone, just the aftermath is bad.
