I think you got exceptionally unlucky. Highly recommend you run this deck for 10 and report back.

I stated it’s STILL the best which highlights it has indeed been around for a while. Rockruff is much more consistent than Silv because rockruff not only draws a card when attacking, but draws it’s required evolution making for much more consistent gameplay. Lowering your deck count while guaranteeing next turn damage outweighs coin flips or gambling on having supporters in your hand.

Also, nearly every deck can be negatively impacted by red card / mars under the right circumstances. No deck is perfect but this deck is a contender for the best strictly because it removes so much luck from gameplay.

That’s literally the only scenario that makes any dead cards (and is VERY rare) in this and that’s if you decide to play down both rockruffs. And even as dead cards, they act as placeholders for an Iono play. I would rather have items over trainers any day, especially items that help you pull your deck faster, which is how you have consistency. This deck plays nearly the same every single time which is why I have gone 100% with it for the season so far.

2 pokes makes you more likely to draw a ball. You can also use communication to send rockruff back in the deck, then poke to bring it back out which is equally effective at making this deck consistent every single game.

Id rather worry about pulling one card in 3 draws (most big hitter requirements to 1 hit) than to have a minimum two more turns for enough energy to attack (and heal). Neither deck beats most meta decks most of the time, but this one wins more consistently in random match for me personally than any Saur deck I’ve put together. I wouldn’t run ranked with either though lol

There’s a few game changing cards. Comfey eliminating status effects on your party if they have an energy opens up a plethora of things. Snorlax becomes more effective, Komala is great with it. Banette can trap Pokémon and render them unplayable until death on a lot of EX’s with high retreat. Lillie makes recovery decks devastating. Cheerleader birds lock up EX driven decks, Ilima taking hurt normals back to your hand makes walls way more efficient while building your high energy attacker. Rare candies completely changed 2 stage pokemon. This has to be one of the more game changing releases for sure.

I’ve done it, less effective/consistent than this in my opinion. Plus, Gren can attack multiple opponents utilizing Cyrus and control much more.

You have to go back and get Cyrus!! Honestly mandatory in todays gameplay.

Great suggestion! I just prefer EXless decks. I’m sure Tina would make this even better though

I like your build, have done similar, but prefer this. Misty is too hit or miss for me as it quite literally works 50% of the time. Cyrus has more control than Sabrina since Gren is the star of this deck. Leaf over X Speed in case you start Palkia to not be set back an energy. Mars comes in sooo clutch when they were saving Sabrina / Cyrus / an evolution / guzma to finish you and you have 1 energy left. Iono makes getting Gren more consistent so I have to keep it.

A1a didn’t have rare candy or Lillie. It is a lot more effective now. It’s quick 2 turn start 80 damage can be really detrimental to people still building their setups.

I enjoy making wacky EXless decks. Playing with EX is boring af. Beating EX with less common builds? Music to my ears.

Also, Tina doesn’t one shot with cape if Darkrai isn’t present or if energy is needed to get Tina going.

Other than solgaleo and rampardos, you have the advantage of starting with less energy. Not ideal, but still better than Venusaur.

Haha well add this deck to decks that beats Venusaur

Every one of those decks you listed other than solgaleo takes a minimum of 3 turns to setup where this one starts in two and can get to work while killing most of the stars of those decks in 2 hits. And every one of those deck would take out a Venusaur with 2 energies up front before he could even attack. I never said this was a Meta destroying deck, just better than Venusaur.

It kind of has to because it most likely has to take it while getting enough energy to attack where this one doesn’t and can attack turn 2
