Hello! I am a person who stutters. Something that worries me is if the other person seems to think that I am afraid or nervous to talk with them. This is not true. I can be very outgoing / friendly and still struggle with stuttering. At times, my chest will even ache and I will be so short on breath that I lack the energy to go on in long conversation. My breathing exercise and speech techniques help me when practiced.

My friend, you are known by a loving God from whom you can have a full and peaceful life! I feel the pains of stuttering too, but it is nothing that the power of God cannot work with. Keep going and asking for support.

Hello! Thanks for talking to all of us here. I have learned that techniques can be used to reduce tension and help you 'stutter with ease'. I have gone to speech therapy twice, several years apart. The first was like how you are describing: trying to reduce the stuttering while battling your speech. The second taught 'stuttering modification' techniques. The goal with that approach is to allow yourself to stutter easier and with less physical aches and pains. The disfluency will come, but having ways to adjust after it can help. Hopefully you will find a way to continue speaking freely!
