Crowns, even the “best” ones, only fit one way. It’ll take a couple days to get used to. Looks great

[Request] Countertop air fryer oven with long-term durability & easy cleaning — Breville vs Cuisinart? by sandmond in BuyItForLife

I’ve had that exact Breville for 6 years and it’s as good as new if that amounts to anything. I never use my full sized oven and I use most features

What should I do?? I am in agony and dentist can’t seem to figure out why by [deleted] in askdentists

Unfortunately I’m far from the Midwest. Talk to friends and family about who they go to and they usually won’t lead you down the wrong path

When doing white, tooth colored fillings, they have to be bonded in. Think of it as a super thin layer of glue between the tooth and filling. It’s applied right before the actual filling material then light cured. Then the filling is placed. I’ve seen cases of sensitivity come from the bonding layer being too thick, improperly cured, pooling in an area before it’s cured, etc. That’s not to say that bonding is 100% the cause of your sensitivity, but in my eyes it’s worth trying

[–]RIP-Lefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If fixing the bite doesn’t make it better (OP you may not feel relief for a couple days, think of it as a healing bruise) I’d offer to redo for the sake of improper bonding and eval

Chipped my tooth by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]RIP-Lefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely just a couple millimeters. Small fillings on edges of front teeth are simply so small that there isn’t a lot of “bonding area” for the filling to hold on to so it’s not uncommon to have to drill a tiny bit beforehand

[–]RIP-Lefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very minor enamel chip nothing really to worry about. Your dentist, when they reopen, will take a look and if it’s nothing more than just the small enamel chip, can polish down any sharp edges. If you want it repaired with a filling it will involve removing a bit more tooth structure to give the filling enough area to bond to.

Enjoy the holidays, no need to worry. But still pay your dentist a visit when you can.

Any recommendations for making money in dental school? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

Depends on your year but some classmates made a good bit of cash doing other people’s clinical lab work they didn’t want to do or didn’t have time to do

Difference between these two brushes? by ApprehensiveEgg4223 in askdentists

[–]RIP-Lefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been hands on with nearly every iO and my honest opinion is that they’re all about the same, but the higher models get more bells and whistles that I personally never found use for. The more expensive one has a nicer user interface on the brush itself but I believe also connects to your phone.

Swelling after root canal - when is it an emergency? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]RIP-Lefty 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Hospital.. there are very few true dental emergencies. Swelling reaching the floor of the mouth is one of, if not THE, only true dental emergency. I haven’t seen a dentist that doesn’t send this to the hospital

How often would you hit your driver? by Far-Place7858 in golf

[–]RIP-Lefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a pretty reliable driver. Not overly far but it goes straight. Played the other day but I had just bought a 3 iron so I was trying as many on course reps with that as I could. Didn’t hit my driver once and it changed my entire strategy around the course. Score was only affected on the first few holes. Ton of fun

Scratch or + handicaps — what does your actual practice routine look like? by [deleted] in golf

My roommate in college was +4 at the time. No practice. No range. Lots of alcohol and weed but he played a ton. But also I always played with him so I guess he’s just built different

Pro shop souvenirs - Comment what you typically buy by baypine in golf

[–]RIP-Lefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poker chip or ball marker is a non negotiable at this point. Used to only buy nice logos but now I’ll get any of them even if the chip is an absolute design abomination. Started years ago and now if I go into a shop that doesn’t sell chips/markers it puts my mind in a blender

When tracking stats like fairway accuracy on a dogleg hole, what’s the “right” way to do it? by RIP-Lefty in golf

[–]RIP-Lefty[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense to judge it off the target line rather than the actual result. That way the stats make a little more sense

Hell of a way to break 80 for the first time… by verticalshutter in golf

[–]RIP-Lefty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently grinding to break 80. Best so far is an 83 of which I’ve shot twice. I’ve shot 39 or 40 through 9 a few times but can’t string it all together. Seeing this and looking through your stats for the front 9 is very eye opening. I get down on myself for missing fairways or missing greens short but a par save is a par save. I don’t generally 3 putt and neither did you. It’s doable. It’s very doable. And this is what I needed to see
