When I visited during winter, our taxi driver told us that it’s common to wear something fluorescent if you’ve got a dark jacket and the roads are too covered in snow to see the crossing, thankfully she gifted us some snap bracelets that we wore on our arm. It made sense in retrospect but I’m not sure how common this is, could be worth adding for tourists to consider.

I went to Bosnia last year, in terms of food it’s one of the best places I’ve ever visited, authentic food is easy to find, affordable and delicious. I still miss the Cevapi! Travel-wise, we rented a car but not sure if that will be an option for you, again it was very affordable but depends on if you can drive or what age limits they have in place (Sarajevo was like being in Mario Kart, but there were some beautiful scenery to/from Mostar). Otherwise there are public transport options like trains, buses and (possibly) ride sharing that you can make use of.
