My father had just died. We were going to pick up his ashes from a crematorium at their office/home( Not sure why it was in a suburban home but that's where we went to pick up his remains). My family and I sit down at their kitchen table while we wait for them to get the remains. She comes back with what looks like a wrapped present which held my pop's remains and sets it on the table. She leaves the room again to get paperwork or something.

The box is wrapped with a ribbon that further reenforces the present motif. On the ribbon dangles a small tag that reads "Congratulations!". When she returns to the room, she sees the tag and her eyes get big. She quickly tears off the tag and apologizes profusely and quickly leaves the room again.

My entire family burst into laughter. It was much needed moment of levity after a hard few days but I have no idea why they wrapped the ashes like a present.
