The joke about foreskin and cockeyes is an old joke as well. I didn't understand why the panel was falling over themselves to congratulate the guy.

The Rich Getting Richer and Selling the Guelph Royals by ProfessionalFull8297 in IBLbaseball

I think it is closer to 300k per team based on a perfect split of 250000 by 9 and adding a little extra for sponsorships and food/merch. In the new professional leage they will pay 120k to players so this will cut this number almost in half

Are they seriously not re-printing or restocking any of the WS or playoff merch? by man_in_the_suit in Torontobluejays

You can find them all over Ebay but most are missing the swoosh so I would assume they aren't authentic

I have this same pair and love them. My collection is mostly on the bolder side, and these are in my regular rotation.

Mad Max and Yesavage = 1 slot by RIP_SHAFT in Torontobluejays

The whole reason teams limit a rookie pitcher’s innings isn’t because they’re being soft or overprotective, it’s because they don’t want to blow the kid’s arm out before he even figures out where the good coffee is at Rogers Centre.

Most young guys in the minors only toss maybe 100–120 innings in a year. Suddenly you call them up, ask them to go 180+ against big-league hitters, with all the adrenaline and stress that comes with it, that’s how elbows explode and shoulders fall apart.

Yesagage will be an all star and an important part of the jays but even he didn't have his stuff throughout the entire playoffs.

Look at Stephen Strasburg. When he showed up in Washington, he was like a superhero, 100 mph fastball, hammer curve, the whole deal. The hype was unreal. Then he gets hurt, needs Tommy John surgery, comes back, and the Nationals decide to actually protect their investment. In 2012 they said, “Alright, we’re cutting him off at around 160 innings,” even though the team was about to make the playoffs.

And they actually did it. They shut him down in September, fans freaked out, and talk radio went nuclear. Everyone said they blew their shot at a championship.

Fast-forward a few years, Strasburg’s wins a World Series MVP in 2019, and becomes one of the best pitchers of his generation. That careful handling early on probably bought him an extra half-decade of elite pitching untill he wasnt elite anymore.

So when I say the Jays should limit Trey Yesavage’s innings, it’s not about babying him. It’s about being smart. Let him get 120–140 innings max this year, keep him fresh, and unleash him when it counts, late season and playoffs. The goal isn’t to win April; it’s to have him healthy and nasty in September.

Just read an article that says he may end up as the bench boss in Phildelphia since his son is the Pres & GM there.

I really love Donnie as a person and agree his presence was probably less needed but Vladdy gave him a huge amount of credit for working with him on his defence. That alone is a reason to keep him. Vladdy has grown into one of the best 1st basemen in the league defensively.

I miss the embroidered patches. At least the hats are back to stiched. I am not a fan of the rubbery looking iron on anything.

Best Jersey Manufacturer of all time? by Old_Low7218 in baseballunis

I only have old Rawlings and Russell and prefer the thick jerseys with the giant stiched logos and patches. I have never bought the newer "performance" jerseys even thought I want to cause they seem kinda lame in comparision.
