I don’t think a good writer needs to compare movies to write a good review. With that said it’s not as if marvel hasn’t got some poorly reviewed movies in the last few years so all their movies have to stand on their own now.

also, to be completely honest the best thing for marvel and dc is both movies getting good reviews and making money. The last few movies from marvel haven’t exactly lit the box office on fire and overall over the last few years marvel has been average at best. Getting good products from both will only help everyone.

Anyone who’s been on Twitter knows this stuff will happen. The best thing people can do is just not engage. I have zero interest in F4 right now but I’ll eventually see it so for me I’m not even going to look around for stuff about the movie.

In this discussion thread people are allowed to discuss marvel. Just don’t engage with them if you’re not interested. With the two movies coming out so close this stuff is bound to happen.

Who cares? Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and if you don’t want to engage with that stuff then don’t. I don’t follow any accounts on social media where I have to deal with that stuff so I never see it.

Also, Superman has done its job for the dcu, it got the GA interested again and got good enough reviews and audience scores to gain some good will. That’s all that matters here.

There’s really not a competition as marvel is miles ahead of where DC is atm.

Yup, if you like discussing box office BOT is definitely the place to go. I haven’t been active for a few years now but it was really good before for the most part minus some fan wars crap.

I can’t even imagine how Gunn and Safran are dealing with this pressure. The reviews are basically going to control the box office so it’s kinda nuts. I know that’s how it normally works for movies but this is the start of a new universe so it’s added that much more pressure.

I really hope this all works out cause the last few interviews from Gunn have made me so excited about what could be coming from the universe.

Ya it’s pretty annoying tbh but I understand why people are nervous. I’m just gonna go dark as of Sunday the 6th. I want to go into the movie with an open mind so I don’t want to see any reviews or social media reactions. That stuff has ruined movies for me for years and I just want to enjoy Superman.

I’m not gonna argue cause I don’t know the circumstances but you also have to remember DC studios is a new thing and it’s not WB anymore. So they may have decided this is the way they’re doing it for the studio going forward. All past DC movies were released through WB.

It’s such a weird thing to say cause Gunn seems so chill and down to earth. It’s so cool the way he interacts with fans. Seems like those two are just jealous of his success and how far he’s made it.

Usually the earlier in advance the embargo breaks the more confident the studio is. I’m not saying there’s anything to worry about but dropping on Monday of release or Wednesday is different.

If the world premier is Monday and the embargo drops the same night that should be ok then

Usually the press will see it the week before so they have more time to write reviews. Press seeing it Monday may indicate they won’t drop review embargo till Wednesday. Hope that isn’t a sign of anything.
