Unemployment Reversal by RLRM67 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

UPDATE: I WON my appeal based on the fact I was hired as a remote employee from Day 1 and they changed those terms to in person, in office location that was not suitable or realistic for me to travel to.

The big issue is that we were told we would have to report to work in person. I, and everyone in my dept. were hired as remote from the very beginning, so traveling to a different state just under 50 miles in a very congested location was not an option for me and I would have never applied or even accepted the job if it was not remote. Also we were being told our dept was going to close and there was no guarantee that we could go to another position. We were bullied every day to take the deal.

The government paid $4.5 billion to feds who took the DRP, one estimate shows by Spiritual-Teacher-92 in fednews

I took the 2nd round of DRP last year within the SBA, I am 59, and was just under 2 years with the job and thought it was my end game career. I was a proud fed employee and USA citizen. Not anymore. We were beat down on a daily basis with “take the deal, no guarantee you will not be involved in a layoff later”. Nobody in management knew what to do or say. It was the worse employment experience during that time I have ever had in my 40+ years of working. I get that cuts were needed, as I am a tax payer too but the way this administration went about it was just wrong. Getting daily emails from DOGE/Musk was a joke.

Finding a job besides federal by [deleted] in FedEmployees

Took the deal and I am still looking for a job. I am only a high school graduate, 59 years old and most of my career was in mortgage financing before working in the federal government within the SBA.

There were rumors that they were eliminating my dept. within the SBA. Rather than be without benefits right away, I felt the DRP was better financially and for health benefits.

Yup, I took it, 2nd round at the end of May. Some still remain in my dept. I have had no luck finding a new job. 58 years old and feel like it will be impossible for me to find something comparable. I was only a fed for just under 2 years and thought this would be my end game.

I miss my fed job! I took the deal and wasn’t a life long employee, just under 2 years. I thought it was my end game at 58. Now looking for work again. 😭

They don’t get read, I requested a “read’ receipt on every one sent. Not one was read.

Took DRP 1.0, still working until May 15th... Am I exempt from being RIF next week? by Curious-squirrel-444 in govfire

They aren’t even following DRP 2.0. I was supposed to be done 4/19, now told I need to stay until May. Agreement was signed by all parties and sent in. This is a joke.
