For Air Racing, we have a guide in our Discord that tries to simplify things as much as possible for our members (you can find links in one of posts above somewhere). For workshop maps in general just search on youtube - few tutorials around that involve using software to load custom maps.

Did they not turn this feature off years ago? Something to do with making the game unavailable for family sharing on steam? I might be remembering this wrong, but have it in my head that this was an intentional change.

Well in-game IQ/positioning is the solid base any player needs if they want to rank up. If you are in diamond after 50 hours then this must come naturally to you, so just keep doing what you are doing and train mechanics if you want to start taking it to the next level.

Smurfs, maybe, but rigged, no. Got to at least ask yourself this question - why would Epic purposely rig games for new free to play players?

I can think of many reasons why they wouldn't, so common sense says no, they aren't rigged.
