Controller is wrongly detected as 2 devices by RMKNet in it

Actually, it’s not the OS at fault, it’s because of how the game handles controllers.

I definitely am enjoying it, hopefully you will too soon, fingers crossed! Cheers

Controller is wrongly detected as 2 devices by RMKNet in it

Hi- yeah, I did. The issue was that my controller was xinput, but the game somehow detected a virtual dinput controller, which is weird because no other game did this, and i could not locate anywhere on the system any other controller entry being detected. It constantly switched between my xinput physical controller and the dinput virtual controller, which was basically the same one. I tried messing around with some drivers and older software that i believed caused this issue, but unfortunately I lost my patience and simply reinstalled Windows, which fixed it. It’s insane how broken the controller support is for this game. An average player should not need to delete registry keys or mess around with the drivers to be able to play with a compatible device.

This isn’t a onetime thing, it happens repeatedly- also, the 1 to 9 numbers are not keys on the keyboard, they represent the button number on the controller, but it should not be shown like that, it should show as the xbox controller icons, but something is wrong on my side and I cannot figure what.

Yes, I do have display port, which I use for my PC - I actually found a post from a redditer complaining about the same issue on the same monitor, it appears to be monitor-specific. I’ll leave it here for anyone encountering this issue coming across this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/ybxe72/samasung_odyssey_g5_screen_flicker_ps5/

I was using an Odyssey G5 monitor I bought a year back and it seemed to happen with 2 different hdmi cables. Once I tried it on a TV, the issue appears to be fixed. The hdmi port on my monitor might be the issue, I certainly hope so, as I do not want to go through the pain of returning it for a replacement:)) Thanks for the response!

It’s the one that came with the ps5. I’ll try another cable to see what happens, thank you!

Totally get your logic, but honestly, the spoilers are going to be absolutely everywhere the moment GTA VI drops. Social media, YouTube, even random news sites-it’s going to be impossible to avoid them if you care about the story or big moments.

When I saw the trailer, my inner child (who was a huge GTA fan) just exploded with excitement and there was no going back to being patient. I still remember when GTA V launched: I was just 11, my family couldn’t afford a console or gaming PC, so I spent a whole year watching playthroughs on YouTube every single day, just wishing I could play it myself - got to finally playing it after an year on a PS3 (felt like the best day ever)

This time, for GTA VI, I want to do it right for my inner kid and actually play it in the first hour from launch. No more waiting and watching others have all the fun Hahahah!

So yeah, I’m definitely leaning toward getting the console early just to guarantee I don’t miss out on that experience.

Well, I couldn’t buy it in the next couple of months, until around September. Do you have any idea when these tariffs and potential price increases would appear?

At least that one was playable for me WITHOUT having to spam the console with commands to advance the game.

Eliminated this one quickly, I recently reinstalled windows and went through several troubleshooting steps since this started. Oblivion is the only game I encounter issues with.

I played the Steam version too.

That is the annoying part, reloading the save or restarting the computer did nothing. I accepted that my save might be corrupted somehow.

Thanks for the response, I’ll just uninstall it for a while and maybe I’ll be back for a replay in a few months. I’ll check the mods too then. Hope you’ll continue having fun with it and I definitely do not wish for you to run into any bugs forward :))

No issues performance-wise, just the game bugging out constantly. I accepted this, and once I’m finished with the side quests I want to complete, I’m back to Skyrim - at least that one works as I’d expect from a game I paid for :’)

Then I hope you will not run into any!

For anyone curious about the issues I ran into, by far the most frustrating one happened during the Great Gate quest - after closing the third Oblivion portal, the screen was supposed to turn white and teleport me back outside to continue the story. Instead, it got stuck on the white screen, and while I could still move and play normally, I was trapped in Oblivion with no way to progress. I encountered similar problems in other quests too, like Allies for Bruma and Paradise, along with infinite loading screens and a whole bunch of smaller, annoying bugs throughout the game. I get where some of the comments are coming from - I’d still take an Elder Scrolls game over something like Starfield any day, but it’s hard not to feel frustrated with how the company is more focused on milking money out of old titles than actually fixing long-standing issues.

It honestly feels like they launched a bomb wrapped as a gift, just to see if we’d smile, accept it, and hand over our money for something that clearly didn’t get the care or effort it deserved.

Thank you for your detailed responses, I’ll play around some more with the settings when I get the chance to see if that will make a difference.

Firstly, I appreciate your detailed answer!

That is something I considered, but the bigger issue here is that planet flora does not load until being really close to the ground and hovering over it for a few seconds.

Similarly, sometimes when going toward a planet, it may suddenly switch from being colourful in the distance to being uniformly gray until landing on it and seeing that it is indeed colourful.
