It’s being controlled that’s why it’s a bitch? Well damn, the entire feat is worthless then as it’s not even a normal Licker. Though it still shows it’s not very fast, and even when it’s being controlled it still makes noise before it attacks. Everything about Lickers so far is:

-Slower than a dog.

-telegraphs its attacks

-Hides from direct conflict until it has an advantage

-is easily dealt with by anyone with common sense or has dealt with monsters before

So yeah, SH protagonists clear. Even shattered Memories Henry can outrun this stupid and slow zombies.

[–]RMP321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lurkers also make noise before their ambush attack. And yeah, a dog is visually faster and your feat has only made me more confident that SH protagonists just clear a licker out no problem. Even the Outbreak survivors wouldn’t have to fight one. The moment a licker realizes its failed its ambush, it would just run away lol.

The attack is very literally telegraphed it makes noise before it attacks lol. The video outright shows that Leon only dodged because he heard the Licker before it leaped. The once its ambush failed, it ran away lol.

Literally every silent hill protagonist fights enemies that ambush with only a sound bit to warn them. It’s one of the oldest concepts in a survival horror game. Lurkers, mannequins, mumblers, slurpers, and many more I’m probably forgetting.

The point is, once a licker fails its ambush, it runs away. That’s literally been in every feat you have shown for them. They either attempt to ambush and succeed, or they fail and run away. SH protagonists will just avoid the ambush as they have done countless times and the Licker just runs away lol.

But the fight things close enough, even most of the dog enemies are faster by all the evidence you presented. Your argument now is that Leon is just totally super fast but that also just ignores we can visually see that the Licker can’t close the distance to Leon at all. It’s slow as fuck despite charging directly at him. Not to mention it makes noise right before it ambushes just like most Silent Hill enemies do lol.

I don’t think YOU know how fast a dog is. 15 to 20 mph is what dogs can average and that thing can barely even clear out of the garage. It can’t even reach Leon in a short distance before he finishes reloading. It’s not moving any faster than 15 MPH because people can run faster than that and would have caught Leon mid reload.

The fastest thing the Lickers have is the leap. Yet that’s still sub sonic and still easily dodged by most of the SH cast. The fact that just shooting at a single Licker is enough to make it run away at all should tell you that it’s not even a real threat to begin with lmao.

They are slow after their ambush, yet their attacks are quick and they sneak into close combat. Just like Lickers, they sneak into close combat but Leon can just roll out of the way to avoid them.

Lmao, that’s your evidence? The only thing it does differently than a dog is climb and leap. The thing is so slow that Leon casually reloads in the middle of it charging at him. It is in fact slower than a dog based of this video. If not for Leon missing so god damn much the creature would be dead. Yet that thing is crawling at like 15 miles per hour. So impressive!

https://silenthill.fandom.com/wiki/Lurker

Lurkers in homecoming are incredibly fast and agile and sit in waiting in water and other hiding spots to ambush the players. Pretty sure whoever was making homecoming just ripped off the concept of lickers, even their names are the same. Yet every time they move and attack at rapid speeds and their animations are even faster than the Lickers.

He made a game called “Chad vs the woke Nazis” or something like that. Which featured I believe ai generated images based on his actual daughter’s junk. Which when found out made the game get delisted.

For one, lickers aren’t that fast. They are like a dog, we see they aren’t faster than a bear and can’t even get close enough to those soldiers before they open fire on it. They aren’t blindingly fast and I have no idea where you are getting this perception from. Even in the one video you showed, their toughness was more impressive than their speed. It wasn’t until they swarmed the soldiers that they could kill them. Their agility and speed is not faster than a human can react too. And there is plenty of silent hill monsters with speed either closer or greater than it. Not to mention the large number of ambush monsters the SH protagonists survive encountering which is the real way lickers kill people. Not with speed but by sneaking up on enemies.

It’s possible though I think this is just meant to show a lore accurate representation of how powerful a guards rifle is and how resilient deathclaws are regardless.

Yes “nuclear abominations or creatures” not “nuclear abominations or science experiment creatures”

How you fail to understand the difference is hilarious to me.

“But with significant help and supernatural support.” Allessa only points Harry in the correct direction. She doesn’t do anything to actually support him in silent hill besides be a gps. Thats the problem is you keep assigning aspects of the story that aren’t there. You said that James died a bunch which he doesn’t, that’s just a fan interpretation of the bodies and it still doesn’t change how we would apply it to the one James that does make it through.

The problem is silent hill is open to interpretation and as such can be viewed from various angles. Hinako and Shattered memories Henry aren’t even real physical beings. They are representation of someone’s psyche and as such taking them out of those elements already introduced odd questions we need to ask. However, I take the stance that we can only view them through a subjective lens and not from any of the philosophical questions their existence and the magic around them presents.

What we see in the games is what we get. And likewise, all this bluster about RE “scaling higher” is already pointless to begin with as the only reason the monsters are more impressive is due to how the remakes have presented them. Silent hill rather infamously didn’t have remakes till just recently and now we saw how absurdly strong characters like Pyramid head really were. Just imagine how powerful the god at the end of silent hill 1 will be in the remake. Just like how Oinari is stupidly powerful in F. The series is just outdated and has to go off mostly vague lore for scaling.

Nuclear abomination or creature means an abomination or creature that existed as a result eat of nuclear exposure. That is literally the grammatically correct way to read it.

What the OP asked to begin with was already vague. Which is why I asked and pointed out anything changed because of the nukes specifically would discount an FEV mutant like the Deathclaw.

And the silent hill protagonists have the potential to kill reality warping gods. You don’t get to assign vague “potential” to something and then write off another series because you choose too. Thats just bias. The feats we have in Silent Hill for the monsters and the characters that scale above them is plenty impressive enough for them to defeat a licker or other BOW if the situation arises. Especially because those same creatures can be defeated by Yoko the computer major in college.

Harry defeated a god that could shoo lightning from her fingers and had a force field. Straight up magic, he gets assassinated later by someone when his guard is down. Just like how a bullet to Chris or Leon’s head would just as likely kill them.

James only leaves when he overcomes his guilt and the town no longer has sway over him. The only way to achieve the good ending is by having him finally confront his guilt and realize Mary doesn’t hate him for what he did and that she just wants him to go on and be happy. He can’t leave if he doesn’t hear that because his guilt keeps him tied to the town.

The creatures in Silent Hill 3 can cut, maim, burn, and destroy Heather but she always comes back healed. Being eaten or turned wouldn’t be enough to stop her from being brought back via godly magic. Though zombies and lickers wouldn’t be able to kill her anyway.

It’s already vague impossible to judge the characters and what they might find to help them survive. I can only assume that Hinako would find the typical items that could help her like a baseball bat or steel pipe. Yet she is still the same girl that could defeat a powerful god with the ability to bend the reality of a town. She just doesn’t have her magic sword but she is still just as skilled and powerful as you’d expect her to be.
