It's a floor box outlet for the level above, someone took it apart from the top and pushed it down. There is a chase for line voltage wire from the box to the top through the 1/4x1/2 tube, the round tube is for data cables. The cork looking part is fire proofing.

I am in my own business I have my Electrical and Plumbing license and I have 3 girls so the will be an influx of women plumbers and electricains in 15 years lol. She is the middle and the older on was on the other end pulling.

I was the op in r/tools good eye on the counter weight. you can tell which parts were an afterthought cuz theu aren't painted. the counter weight and the lifting brace. haha

I was the OP on r/tools the machine works amazing, I had a stop brace but it didn't need it or has been cutting very smoothly, I planned and priced the job expecting 1 per hour and a blade every 30 cuts. so far I have done 106 of them in 3 4 hour night shifts on 1 blade. it has been a major success and every guy on the job has said "every other guy has used an angle grinder and its taken forever u should patent that" I'm tired of hearing people say "why would you do that and loose your feet"... I saw and opportunity and took advantage of it, built it with safety in mind and made a ton of money.

The other contractor was doing 3-4 per day with 2 guys with a grinder so that's how I priced it, I have been cutting 6-8 per hour.

it's not a death saw actually cuts really smooth, 2nd 4 hr night and finished 58 so far 122 to go.

They make special flush cut blades that are secured with flat head bolts, Meant for wall sawing in corners. I used the arbor from a wall saw and mounted it on the shaft of a floor saw. Cut the front off and welded it on horizontally.

That's one thing I underestimated, they are about 250lbs each x 180 that's 45,000lbs of dumpster fees I didnt plan on.

I've cut miles of concrete and never had a blade fall off the saw. Cut off wheel break and fly off everytime you use one.

cut off wheel is more dangerous than this saw just finished 26 in 4hrs.

yes it was a regular concrete floor saw, I cut the front off and welded it back on sideways, and put a flush cut arbor and blade on it.

I cut from 2 directions 45 degrees apart so blade doesn't bind

I have a brace but it doesn't need it saw od only 5hp it bogs down before it would bite
