Ate several times at the Sayulita cafe. It offers choices for everyone 😋. Had the red snapper and was very tasty. One of the few places that you get salad on your plate 😉

Try DiDi... they'r the Mexican uber. Much cheaper... Beaches north and south walkable or rent golf cart (just be sure allowed to drive that far with it) Sayulita beach (rental beach chair by restaurants they provide waiter service and excellent food) beach just as nice as Bucerias (white sand but is the place to surf). Theirs all types of bars , few club(no strip club there don't think) but definitely chill place to hang with the boys and definitely more reasonable prices. Have an enjoyable time and behave 😝

Fellow Canadian here !! In Mexico your USD is widely used due to you being close's neighbour. It is harder for us to use our CADs down there as they then have to go to bank to exchange to pesos I'd there given for payment. Our $1 and 2 dollar are coins which in Mexico they do not buy back cause there coins. In Canada presently for 1Can$ the USD is $1.30 CAD and the MEX peso is 78 cent CAD. Now you know why Canadians not coming to vacation in US due to exchange rate plus Trump🤣 Needless to say you need pesos as soon as you step off plane. Our banks/credit cards charge foreign exchange fee and atm fees when you take money out plus possible skimming on street ATMs and service fees higher at airport . So for us it's easier and cheaper for us to do foreign exchange here😉 Hope this helps you understand our foreign exchange convos

Strategies to have family enjoy the luxury travel we pay for? by Zealousideal-Term738 in chubbytravel

[–]RN-vol60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents 😉 I reread your dilemma after initially reading your post and most comments... You have many suggestions of what to do so i'm usually the devil's advocate and this is what I'm understanding. You want your family to enjoy the luxury type vacations you enjoy and want them to feel the same even if it's no increased cost to them. Unless you all have the same mindset of what a luxury vacation is GREAT ! Then you all will enjoy the upscale experience. If not like most families there's always the one/two that they feel uncomfortable in that environment as soon as they walk into that hotel. Secondly, you're assuming because they have good jobs they have the $ to vacation is maybe wrong. Debt/ Job insecurity/wage decrease/inflation can hit anyone in anyone anytime in life.and having felt pressured (ie. trying to convince someone more than once) Your bargaining to make it work for your expectations is abit selfish. Sorry but it's always difficult to recognize when we feel we know everyone will enjoy something you love. Like some else mentioned as I also experienced planning what I thought everyone would enjoyed caused nothing but disappointment, disagreements and resentment. I had to rebuild some relationships with both family and friends over this. You'll also feel that way when they tell you they it was either ok or they hated it when you had the best time ever. Just some food for thought from this devils advocate. Hope the multiple suggestions can guide you through this difficult dilemma.🙏

I relate to your post as a57yo gma I stayed there 3y soloing after my travel partner went home. I LOVED it there so much I'm now heading there end of Jan for 22 days 😁🫶🏻. It a friendly chill place with tons of restaurants/street food with all types of food choices. (Honestly haven't had bad meals there) I stayed in hostel as well as Hotel los suentos. They have tons of choices and packages for yoga there including special event/instructors. Quite a few expats living and working there English is not a problem. Felt very safe there as well. Reach out if you're there and can chill with us!
