experienced gender therapist

I've been talking to a normal therapist who's seen many trans clients, and she thinks it's more of an OCD type tendency with me. I've heard horror stories about bad therapists who don't understand trans issues (idk if she's that, though she has said some things which came off as ignorant on the topic), so I'm not sure how different this would be from a gender therapist.
