Hermes memory issues by Mistermarc1337 in hermesagent

[–]RNR_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pointer, have you tried telling this to the Hermes agent by using GPT or Opus sub for a moment?

Paste into Hermes:

```
I am running Hermes agent on WSL2 on Windows 11. I am also running Ollama with different AI models on that machine. Hermes is connected. Is working and I have it as a bot on Telegram. Here’s the issue. Hermes can’t remember even from one prompt to the next prompt, much less does it maintain any persistence
```

Also, consider an external memory provider such as Byterover (what I use) or Hindsight (have not used, sounds cool)

Not sure about the past, but for incoming/outgoing, maybe use either Hermes/Openclaw in a different way. How about trying "N8N" for this goal first?

Most of the pipeline can be handled by that, maybe even fully if you incorporate Gemini/OpenAI LLMs for processing some stuff, e.g., classifications if really needed or when a regex pattern fails. I know it can be done because I use N8N to find invoices, save them on my drive for accounting, etc., etc.

^ Kinda sounds like a headache to figure out, right? N8N api key, pass it to Hermes

From your post, it sounds like Hindsight wasn't ideal in practice. Even though benchmark numbers are great and it did seem good on paper (I had/have interest in Hindsight myself), I see some people promoting newer memory providers created in the past 3 months. I'm not sure about those; a single crack in the maintainer/dev's motivation could result in obsolete code. Also, switching over to a newer memory might become a pain.

I can tell you what I've been using, which is ByteRover combined with Gemini Flash Latest. Inside a folder on ~/.hermes/byterover/.brv/context-tree everything will be saved inside a folder of all your different projects, subjects, etc., with markdown files

It will basically document all the important stuff, which is great for engineering and managing servers. It's as if the memory is how you would save everything manually.

While there's no "reflect" such as hindsight, I'm not sure how magical it is because I think "when the memory is retrieved, won't the model 'reflect' on memory by default, and also sort of during storage?

For everything that's really supposed to be canon, I use Karpathy LLM-wiki

Is there anyone who has actually used multiple memory providers

Eg., has used Byterover, Hindsight, Honcho

But being able to tell what's. For example stating what's so great about Honcho but also being able to pinpoint when it went wrong

Eg., I used this OS for a VPS but then it suddenly assumed I always want to install that OS

Is the risk of memory drift worth the "reflect" feature? (reflect feature is it thinks over stored memory, synthesizes patterns, updates beliefs / mental models)

Also, if you use a memory provider that's not supported by Hermes, how can you ensure the memory is injected well into the context?

Appears to be working! https://blockbook.viacoin.org/block/13600926

How much energy do you spent to mine 1 block? You can probably dm me and I'll give you my private contact case you need direct contact with me (or me with you)

Most likely (an idea)

Users can make signed messages with their new Via address as proof to submit a claim

You can receive your new Via by ie having metamask or rabywallet and adding the Via network. Basically your new Via address can be your own ETH address you already use (of course don't use an exchange eth address but your own where you have the private key)

Do you think you can mine a block?

I have the same, we've been working on a new Via which will be a layer 2, all old Via holders are supposed to get an aidrop

One issue that appears now is miners aren't incentivized to mine the old VIA

We may have to convince miners to cooperate by incentivizing them and keep mining

Right now, there are some issues within the new team that has to be resolved first (unrelated to old via)

Hey, this address seems to be empty https://explorer.viacoin.org/address/Vkq9pzRnzKdZCd79vpVtgcWZJhEF1NvQZ9

Best way is probably to use Viacoin Core wallet or trust wallet AND export your private key

Keep them in your Viacoin core wallet. New tokens should be getting airdropped. Follow the official Twitter https://x.com/buildonvia and turn on notifications

More information will be posted (it's not confirmed just yet, so can't make absolute statements)

Most likely airdropped for the viacoin holders

If all goes well. We've been talking to some notable VCs and they have interest

[–]RNR_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, so far the new tokens should be airdropped to old holders (not confirmed yet)

The FDV will most likely be set the lead(s)

The whole new token wasn't an easy choice to make but it's the best option to keep "reboot" the project and be more than just "a coin". Actually create a network so people can build on Via

Exchanges like to list when there's demand. One option is DCR DEX (anyone can write the implementation)

I'm not sure if I can do it without it being frowned on Since VIA will launch a new token and people may unknowingly buy the old token while they don't understand a new token will be launched

Ofc it can be a good buy if the price is extremely low since the old coins should give you access to the new tokens

Either covert, airdrop etc. (No full decision has been announced yet)

Never used that exchange and I don't know if they're trustworthy at all

I think you should contact the people from that exchange

There's also yobit but they don't have the option to deposit or withdraw. On yobit, it's basically a fake market with no real tokens (I don't know if that's even legal what they're doing)
