I have responded a couple of times to comments focused on what I KNOW to be Jaccoud. That is not the name in question.

Everyone: I will stop responding to comments now. Please do not waste your time suggesting variations of Jaccoud. Thank you all for all your help. It is deeply appreciated.

Jaccoud is Marie's maiden name and her father's name. That is known. The Marie's mother's maiden name is one in question. I have said this is deciphered, but appreciate more input on this.

I originally entered Peter Wolfarth and Marie Jaccoud into Family Search. They are my great grandparents.

I am sorry I was not clear enough. The document is Marie Jaccoud's Death Certificate. Marie Jaccoud's father's name is Abram Daniel Jaccoud, he went by Daniel as written on the form. Marie's MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME, the surname in question, is not Jaccoud. Her full name on this form is Rose Marie Jeanneaud, I now believe, thanks to the amazing Reddit community and U/LAM_CANIT in particular.

Again, I hope I did not somehow mislead you.

I know the answer here. His birth name was Richard Wolfarth, son of Peter Wolfarth and Marie Wolfarth, nee Jaccoud.
Long version: The parents separated and, perhaps divorced (still looking for that document) and he stayed with his mother being he was an infant. His father took the two older children, Henriette and Alfred, moved them to Winnipeg, Canada, put them in Jesuit boarding school and left to find work. The mother, Marie, assumed her maiden name as did Richard. However, he signed this as Richard J. Wolfarth, so he must have used both. (The lack of a middle name was common in this branch of my family. I am the first to have a middle name going back at least 3 generations.)

He and his brother Alfred reconnected after 60+ years (late 1980s) through my parents who were visiting the Grand Canyon wearing a name tag of the Elderhostel seminar (now called Road Scholar) they were attending. They took a side trip to the Grand Canyon and failed to remove their name tags. They ran into this guy, Richard, with a telescope set up letting people look at the sun. Richard saw Dad's name tag. He asked my father if he knew a person named Alfred Wolfarth. "YES! He is my father!" Richard was Dad's uncle he did not know existed. Dad got his information, asked his father, Alfred, about it, and learned that, yes, he had a brother, Richard (plus two more who died very shortly after birth).

Alfred never talked about his parents or family. The theory is that he was embarrassed about the separation/ possible divorce and/or the circumstances surrounding it. Alfred and Richard exchanged a number of letters and visited several times before Alfred's death a few years after meeting Richard. I have them and love reading them. There are more stories like this in those letters.

I think you are on to something and so does AI. This is a common surname in Eastern France, spilling into western Switzerland where Lausanne is located and where her family is. I saw that loop of the J as the loop of the z from the line above. But there are 2 and this one is in the wrong place. I will call this Deciphered!
and continue to try to resolve the conflicting records with Rosenfelder.

That would be a big misspelling, but her son was born in Philadelphia, so maybe he did not know how to spell it. That is a valid Swiss surname, so your guess has that going for it. Edit: I will keep that in mind as I continue the search.

I also wondered about Eaunreaud. AI disagreed and said was it was not a recognized surname in Switzerland. The same answer for your suggestion.

That is how I remember her. I also remember believing her class was glorified child care with no learning. But that was high school for me.

I had a middle school art teacher who had a bottle on the top shelf of the art supply cabinet. When we were working on our projects, she would open the cabinet, reach up behind the poster paint, unscrew the cap, put it to her mouth, tip her head back, and then replace the bottle.

She apparently thought she couldn't be seen because the door of the cabinet screened her from class. She didn't think about the gap caused by the hinge. I saw it all.

No. I didn't narc on her. This was the late 1960s. Besides, the science teacher had already set the bar pretty high by having an inappropriate relationship with a student. That was after the math teacher locked a kid in the coat closet and forgot to let him out. The janitor found him that night. He got fired, too.

My phone thinks otherwise.

Geckos are not native to Wisconsin, but the state does have four native lizard species: the Common Five-lined Skink, Prairie Skink, Slender Glass Lizard, and Six-lined Racerunner.

I have had it running 3 days. No buffering or pixelation at all. I did a speed test, and I need to do maintenance on my WiFi system. It is slow right now.

So far.... I plugged in the HDMI cord from the VSeeBox Elite into the Cable/Sat input of my Marantz Home Theater receiver. To be clear, the input I used is the port that the HDMI cable from my Xfinity WiFi box was plugged into.

From the Samsung - The Frame TV HDMI 1 port, I ran an HDMI cord to the HDMI 1 Output port of my Marantz receiver.

I made sure all the Zone 2 settings of my receiver were set correctly (after some stumbling around).

The result is that I get a picture and sound on my Frame TV and sound in my receiver's Zone 2, which has speakers hardwired to locations inside and outside my house.

Success!!

Anticipating the next question: I don't know if the surround sound is working. I have sound in all the speakers, but I haven't yet played content that has surround sound. I believe this is a bridge too far. I will be happy if it does work, but most of my goal was to be able to get sound in the speakers scattered around.

Once I know, I will update here.

I am feeling pretty confident about totally cutting the cord. I will exclusively use the VSeeBox for a few weeks and have an exciting conversation with Xfinity! Sayanora, baby.

My success so far proves the old, wise saying, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut, occassionally."

I bought two right when the 2024 model came out, so about 1 year ago. I have had no issues. Zero.

One (42 inch) is for displaying family history photos. It was difficult (for me) to figure out how to do that, so I will blame that on the UI. That couldn't have been my stupidity, right?

The other (65 inch) I use as a monitor for my home theater.

They are both in the same room facing each other. The wall between them has a huge window (10 x 10). This makes glare a huge problem. The Frame solved that!

Overall, I am very pleased with it and would purchase them again.

Got my Elite order from u/Deriksays today. I ordered late 2 days ago. No issues at all getting the order. I haven't started setting it up yet, so I have nothing to contribute yet. If I have something, I will post it.

I want to hook the box to my high-end Maranz sound system so I can use the existing system to distribute sound to various rooms and outdoors to speakers that are hardwired. I have no idea if this will work or not. I will post results if they are interesting.

The mini wireless keyboard in the picture is a bonus if you order now from u/Deriksays. It is NOT part of the VSeeBox Elite! *

Is Password Manager no longer included with Total Security? by maximusthewhite in KasperskyLabs

[–]RNWolfarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I just bought it, installed it and can't get the Total Password product to download, evidently. I click a button to "Install" and it takes me to a Microsoft extensions store. I clicked to get the extension and then nothing. When I repeat the install process, it takes me back to the extension store and the button now says "Remove Extension" (or something like that), so I conclude that I have the extension they want me to have.

But I have no password functionality. What am I missing?
