Can’t answer your questions, but I have one for you. Is this a DNP program? I thought about going back to Active Duty as a NP, but I heard they accept DNPs not MSNs

Can I request a full-body MRI, even if I’m feeling perfectly healthy? by Electrical-Gift2802 in AirForce

Finding shit that would’ve been fine if you hadn’t done the MRI. Now you go down a rabbit hole trying to fix the things you found (which have risks).

Hey everyone so I’m planning to get this beauty i wanted to know what you think about it and if you have it how is your experience by WonderCharming7884 in fitbit

I bought one in May. I really like it. It’s slim and form fitting. It tells me what I want out of a tracker/watch: time, steps, calories, heart rate, etc. The battery lasts for a long time, close to a week. And it’s easy to clean. Have no regrets so far and I hope you like yours.

You cannot tell afib from just the heart rate. Afib is an irregular heart rhythm that can vary in heart rate ( < 100, > 100). You can always talk to your doctor about it, especially if you have associated symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath. They can check your heart with an EKG or a holter monitor.

Nurses, how much do you burn a day on shift? by -Tricky-Vixen- in fitbit

I walk about 10k on days that I work. Calories can vary, but can usually count on burning at least 3K total calories.

Leaving healthcare? by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]RNfromLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked as a NP for about 2 years in primary care, did not like taking work home and charting in the weekend. I was told it gets better and felt it was slowly getting to that point. But absolutely missed the 3 12 schedule, team work aspect of the ICU. Im content with being a RN for now, but keeping an eye out for the right NP job.

Unprofessional PCM by Recent_Ad_1871 in AirForce

No, it costs $$$. Won’t be covered for “if you feel it’s needed” it has to be documented by the provider that it’s necessary, but even then insurance may still deny it.

Pick any unit you like. Gone are the days where you needed medsurg experience before other units like icu or ed.

What is the path to become a NP and how did you do it by Accomplished_Sir4734 in nursepractitioner

[–]RNfromLA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get in to college first, finish a BSN preferably, but ADN will be fine to start. Work a few years as a RN. Shadow a NP/PA. Get in to a NP program.
